The Tuesday Notice
November 21, 2023
Dear Siskiyou School Parents,
Time flies – and we are already at Thanksgiving! I hope everyone will enjoy wonderful family gatherings with delicious meals. Most of all, let’s share all our love and gratitude with each other. With all that is happening in the world, we are so blessed and fortunate on so many levels!
At our Thanksgiving assembly this morning children shared what they are grateful for. Among many gratitude reflections were gratitude for friends, food, for the earth, for our school, our pets, and much more.
We are grateful to everyone for helping to raise the abundance of food which was staged in the form of beautiful towers the 5th graders made. The food will help so many people during this season: Thank you!
Winter Faire is so close, and we are very excited for the event! Thank you to everyone who has already signed up to help, but we do need all helping hands to run this event. We usually host about 1,000 people. Many children from our school attend, and we also welcome many from the greater community. We truly will weave the mantle of warmth around the community when we work together to create the magic for all the children! Please take a moment to sign up on the link below and we look forward to seeing you there!
Today it’s also important to share that the new gates around the school have been installed. We are so grateful that this was able to happen! We are still finalizing last details on the gates and regarding the plan for the gates. I will share more about this next week.
I hold much gratitude for our school and for our teachers who bring so much to the children every day. Thank you to you, parents, for sending your children to our school so we can educate their heads, hands and hearts! It is a true gift.
Enjoy this mini vacation and see you all next week. ~ Aurilia

Global Day of Generosity: Giving Tuesday - November 28th
The Siskiyou School is participating in "Giving Tuesday" on November 28th. Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving and unity. Now in its fourteenth year, Giving Tuesday is recognized as an opportunity for people and communities to come together in the spirit of generosity.
In just one week we welcome you to join this global movement and support The Siskiyou School through our Annual Giving campaign.
This year we have made it easy to donate via Give Lively, or you may choose to donate via cash or check. Every dollar, in support of our school, is received with so much appreciation and gratitude.
Class 3 - Starfish Class
This week, the Starfish class is wrapping up their study of money. We have had the most delightful shop where you can buy all sorts of wonderful things like beeswax and ribbon and once you've made change, the money magically makes it's way back into your pocket.
The Starfish Cafe will come to life this week as we transform the classroom into a beautiful space to meet friends, eat muffins and cookies, drink mango fizz and hot chocolate. Along the way, the children will add up the cost of their treats and learn about the decimal point. Thank you to all the parents who have graciously donated to make our cafe a reality.
Happy Thanksgiving, Ms. Whitridge
SUPPORTING RESILIENCY IN CHILDREN: November 30, 9:00-10:30 a.m.
For parents of children of all ages.
Join us for a morning coffee covering this important topic on how to build and support resiliency for all members of your family. Resiliency is a critical quality needed to meet challenges and to mitigate stress. Children (and adults) who lack resiliency can get easily overwhelmed and turn to unhealthy coping mechanism under stress. Resilient people tap into their strengths and have tools to work through challenges. In this coffee talk, we will look at the core “pillars” of resiliency and how to strengthen them with your family.
