Hi Sierra Families,

Next week is our first trimester Parent-Teacher conferences. This is an important time for you to sit down with your child's teacher and review how they are doing so far this school year. You will hear about areas your child is excelling in, as well as areas for continued growth and ways that you can support your kiddo at home. Please make sure that you make time to attend these meetings. As we know, the stronger the Home-School connection is, the more successful students will be.

As a reminder, Monday is a normal early release day-school gets out at 1:50pm, and Tuesday-Friday are minimum days-school gets out at 12:30pm. Please make sure your child knows their after school plans.

Hello Dragons!

I would like to say “Thank You” for all of your book fair purchases. With your support, we were able to raise about $3,000 towards new books for our library. I would like to thank our volunteers for being such wonderful helpers: Lori , Zabrina, Ken, Eva, Jill, Tasha, Joan, and San Jaunita. So much work goes into setting up, running it during the week or events, and taking it all down. I am always amazed with the help our library receives for our book fairs. I can’t wait to get more books our students will love to read and learn from! Remember, good things happen when you read!

AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT

Winter after school enrichment class registration is almost here! Brochures (seen below) will be sent home with students next week. Registration starts Monday, November 27, right after the holiday break.

TOYS FOR TOTS - It’s early, but not too early to talk about toys! The first day of registration for Toys for Tots is September 30th. Schools do not register families - please visit the Toys for Tots El Dorado County website or the FRC webpage: www.pusdk8.us/page/family-resource-center to plan your registration date and time.

ARE YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IN A TEMPORARY LIVING ARRANGEMENT? – If you had to move out of your home and move in with others, a hotel or other temporary residence due to something urgent, please contact me to see if your child qualifies for my program. I am here to help. Please contact me if you are in need of resources or are in a temporary living situation.
