What is Hazel Health?
Physical Health Visits:
With your permission and involvement, Hazel Health allows your child get the health care they need so they can get back to learning. Students are able to visit with a health care provider via a tablet in the nurse's office here at school. This can allow students to be seen quickly instead of missing school to visit the doctor.
Health Statistics:
-54% of children in the United States do not have a place for regular sick care
-250+ million school days are missed each year due to physical health issues alone
-14 million children live in federally designated Health
-70% of uninsured children are school-aged children
Mental Health Visits:
Hazel also helps bridge care gaps by putting therapists within reach of every student at Grandview.
-20%+ of all children have a mental, emotional, or behavioral disorder, but only 1 in 5 who need support receive care from a mental health provider
-Students are waiting up to 7 months for an appointment with a therapist
If you are interested in any of these services for your child(ren), please use the link to the consent below. If you have any trouble with the consent form or have any questions, email Nurse Kadie or call the elementary office. stormerk@grandviewr2.org
