MST Weekly Update
May 26, 2023

Good afternoon to all of our MST family members.
This morning at 8:45, all students were called outside for our annual Memorial Day ceremony. The event began with the Star-Spangled Banner being played while a new flag was being raised. The flag raising was done by six seniors who are going into the military after graduation: Nicholas Clark (Marines), Samantha DiMino (Air Force), Corbyn Harzmovitch (Army Guard), Blaise Loughner (Army), Johnny Phan (Air Force) and Jared Velazquez (Navy). Click Here to see the flag raising.
Following the flag raising, students were reminded that while we usually celebrate Memorial Day as the official start of the summer season, it is also the day to remember those who have died while serving our country and protecting our freedom. A brief history of the holiday was shared with the students. The ceremony concluded with a moment of silence for all of those who have sacrificed their lives, accompanied by the playing of Taps.
While you are celebrating this holiday weekend, please take a moment to pause and remember those who have sacrificed their lives to make it possible for us to celebrate. One last reminder that there is no school on Monday.

2023 Prom Night-A Night to Remember
On Friday May 19th, 77 students enjoyed an evening of fine dining and dancing at the MST prom, held at The Farmhouse at Candia Woods. Everyone in attendance was dressed in their finest prom attire and looked great. After dining on steak tips, chicken parmesan or vegetarian pasta, the guests took to the dance floor and enjoyed the tunes played by DJ Chris Grant. When the evening ended, all were seen smiling as they left the event.
Thank you to the senior class and their advisor, Ms. Weiss, for planning an evening to remember.
Two Important Nights for MST
Two important end of the year events have been added to our calendar:
CTE Recognition Night will be held this Tuesday, May 30th, at 6:00 in the Memorial High School Auditorium. Recognition Night celebrates all CTE students who have successfully completed all required competencies of their 2-year CTE program. Students receiving a Certificate of Completion are those who went above and beyond and are being recommended for continuation in their chosen trade. Also recognized are those who completed two or more programs and students receiving scholarships related to their trade. Invitations have been sent out to the families of those being recognized this night. Due to space limitations, we can only allow 2 guests per student.
Class Night will be held on Wednesday June 14th in the Memorial High School auditorium at 6:00. This night is for all seniors, who will attend in cap and gown. This evening is for presentation of scholarships, academic awards and other honors received by members of the Class of 2023.
