Good morning Bulldog Nation!!!
We have another exciting week ahead of us here in Bulldog Nation!!!
First off, congratulations to our Lady Dawg Soccer team and Bulldog Track & Field team on their championships at the Norfolk Invite and Buffalo Bill Invite respectively!!! These teams have had a great spring season so far and we look forward to continued success on the pitch and on the track!!!
Second, we want to wish the NPHS FFA program GOOD LUCK as they head to the 2022 Nebraska State Convention on Wednesday, April 6th and GOOD LUCK to the Skills USA program as they head to their state convention at the end of the week in Grand Island!!!
Finally, the spring season continues to be busy for the students at North Platte High School! We continue to value all the support and encouragement you provide our students. Thank you for being a part of all the success and enjoyment we have experienced through Bulldog activities!!!
FOUR BULLDOG FUNDAMENTALS
HARD WORK: I cannot say it enough for all of our programs here at NPHS...Hard Work Pays Off (HWPO). As we begin new seasons, may we not lose sight that it is the day to day discipline and grind that helps us to achieve at a high level. It is never the grand statements or one-time actions that produce high level results. On the contrary, it is the day in and day out effort that produces great results in what we do!
DETAILS/ORGANIZATION: Have a plan in place for everything you do within your program!!! Details matter to all the stakeholders involved!!! The more detailed and planned out you can be heading into the season, the more freedom it provides you to focus on other first dimension topics and give you the freedom to pursue second and third dimension strategies with your students and staff!
COMMUNICATION: Have a plan in place to continue to communicate at a high level with all stakeholders in your program. For the spring activities that are starting make sure you are making time to meet with your coaches/sponsors, students, and parents to clearly communicate expectations/rules/schedules for your respective activities. Let us finish strong in our consistency and clarity of communication to all the stakeholders around our program!
FOCUS ON PROCESS: As I have said all year, we want to focus on the process of improvement as we go through our respective seasons. When we focus on process goals instead of outcome or performance goals, we provide the room for our students and coaches/sponsors to FAIL and LEARN/GROW from those failures. As we go through the course of a season, we can see the growth from those failures and put ourselves and our teams in the best position to be successful at the most important time of the year, the post-season!
