COLLEGE CORNER from the Counseling Office
PSAT results were released in December and students have been able to access their score information through their College Board accounts. Counselors are reviewing this information with sophomores and juniors during science classes through January/February. There is a wealth of information within the score report to assist the students with future testing. In addition, a new College Board Opportunity Scholarship will open for students in the classes of 2020 and 2021. For more information go to: https://blog.collegeboard.org/college-board-opportunity-scholarships
Career Awareness - To assist students planning their future goals, the counselors, English, and Social Studies teachers will be assigning some career interest inventories. We want students to be aware of their personal interests and how those interests can crosswalk into careers and or college majors.
Scheduling - Students will begin the scheduling process over the next month. The program-planning guide for the 2019-2020 school year is available on the Methacton High School web page. Students are encouraged to look through the book for options prior to scheduling classes.
Standardized Testing Deadlines - The SAT is scheduled for March 9 with a registration deadline of February 8. The ACT is scheduled for February 9 with a registration deadline of January 11. Please use these links to check on future testing dates and registration deadlines for the SAT, www.collegboard.org and ACT, ww.w.actstudent.org
