All dedications and photographs are due to the Student Publications Room F210 by Friday, November 3rd at the latest (the earlier the better for our staff).

LifeTouch Photographers will be on campus (both the NGC and WHS for all grades, including seniors) for a Retake & Make-Up Picture Day on Monday, October 30th. Any student may have a retake done, and any unphotographed student should go have their picture taken for yearbook. There is no cost for a retake, but LifeTouch does ask that the student bring their proofs back to them when they come to be rephotographed. (Proofs from the original picture days in September were distributed at the high school to underclassmen two weeks ago through English classes.)

Photographers will be on both campuses from 8:00-4:00. Students may go down and have their picture taken at any time (as teachers permit) or during MegaLunch.

Stuco will be hosting Fall Food Booths on October 31st before school and during lunch! Bring your money and come enjoy some sweet treats!

Booths will be provided by various organizations around campus. A portion of the proceeds will benefit both Hurrican Harvey rebuilding efforts as well as The Wounded Warrior Project.

Tryouts for men's Basketball will be on Saturday, November 4th from 9-11 am at WHS. Please make sure that you have a physical on file before the tryout. Good luck!

Congratulations to Belles of the Week - Spirit Belle of the week Sydney Lowry, Miss High Kick of the week Kelley Geyer, and Spirit Belle of the week Delilah Dial.

Boys Soccer Team collected over 150 cans for the center of hope so they can get ready for the upcoming season. Each student committed to donating 2 cans so they can get out of one day of conditioning. It has been a great team building activity!

Members of the Weatherford High School Debate Team traveled to Fort Worth last week to compete against 17 other greater Fort Worth area high schools in the Trimble Tech Invitational​.

Senior Brannon Heltzel-Clay scored high-point wins in 3 out of his 4 Lincoln-Douglas debates to take 4th place in the tournament. There were 33 other debaters in that contest. He was beaten only by the 1st place winner.

Sophomore Gavin McFadden, in his first ever debate tournament, won 2 out of 4 of his Lincoln-Douglas debates.

Please congratulate these students when you see them. Go Roo Debate!

At last week's away game (10/27) against Haltom High School, The Fightin' Roo Marching Band and Color Guard pumped up the crowd with their Fall Spirit Show featuring "The Best of Michael Jackson".

The band will begin preparing for Region Band auditions and their holiday concerts. Keep a look out for more information to come.

A special shout out to Xan Watson, who earned a spot in the top Region Jazz Band on bass guitar. Xan will participate in a clinic/concert that is open to the public. Please come out and enjoy some great music with one of our own.

This year, the Community Service Club is putting on a Christmas toy drive to benefit our Weatherford ISD students in need. We are accepting donations such as new toys for boys and girls of all ages, wrapping paper, and tape. If you would like to make a difference in our community, please bring your donations to F205 in Mrs. Brown's room between now and December 10th. Thank you for supporting our community!

ASL t-shirts are on sale for anyone. Come by K209 Mrs. Purdy's room to sign up. Price will be dependent on the number of orders, but we don't expect it to be more than $15.

Coca-Cola Scholarship. Seniors who had a 3.0 GPA by the end of their junior year are eligible for this achievement-based scholarship of $20,000. The awards are based on character, personal merit, and a demonstrated commitment to service. The deadline is October 31, and students need to apply online at coca-colascholarsfoundation.org.
