Yesterday there were multiple hoax calls made to both schools and police departments in some of our surrounding communities making active shooter threats to schools. This has been happening across the country over the past several months. We want you to know that we are aware of this situation and collaborating with our local police departments to be prepared for this potential issue. Our staff has been updated on the situation and we will follow our protocols to keep everyone safe. During this time we will, as always, work to approach this situation with the seriousness that is required and respond with our best Trauma Informed approaches. Just a reminder that this Saturday, March 4, 2023 is Town Meeting Day. The meeting will be here at Weathersfield School starting at 10:00 AM. The meeting will be in the Gym and start with the school portion first. The meeting can be attended in person or virtually. Please note that to participate or vote during the actual town meeting, you need to be in person. Residents that are attending the meeting virtually can only be spectators.

Windsor Southeast Supervisory Union is currently looking for substitute teachers to work at our Hartland, Weathersfield, and Mount Ascutney School Districts. Substitutes would be responsible for carrying out sub plans for students in grades PK-12 and communicating with the absent teacher any feedback from the day. Interested candidates should fill out an application and/or submit their resume to Teena Canfield, HR Director at teena.canfield@wsesu.net. Employment is subject to passing a criminal background check. WSESU is an EOE.

Lucas Guadette and Isaac Mc Naughton's hockey team the Vermont Flames won the AA Peewee Quebec International tournament over Winter break. The team went undefeated in tournament play beating the following teams: The Atlantic Selects, Team Ukraine, Korea Zenith, NYC North Park and then Austria Stars in the championship game. Congratulations to the following Weathersfield students: Taylor Tomberg, Cole Tomberg, Clayton Rousse, Turtle Petschke, Warner Malloy, Oliver Vandivere and WS alumni Justin Roy. Last week the competed and won the 14U Co-ed group C Championship at the Fieldhouse in Swnzey, NH. Congratulations on a job well done!

The final Winter activity day will be on Friday, March 10th. Remember all students have an early release day, so that they can attend their Winter Activity. Please reach out if you have any questions. It has been a great opportunity for all students.

The cast for The Little Mermaid Jr. has been rehearsing and working on getting ready for the show. They have been putting in the hard work at school and practicing at home as well. I am excited to see the show in March. Students started rehearsing this week and have an intensive schedule to get them ready for the performances on March 24-25. Please see the attached flyer for additional information regarding the upcoming show.

Remember to wear your Weathersfield clothing on Fridays. Show your school spirit by wearing red and black.
