I would like to congratulate Ms. Wien's, the new Principal of Niton Central. I'm confident she will do an amazing job. (Please see news release)

Just a reminder that Student Registration for the 2021-2022 school year is open.

Please check your email for snapcodes to register as Returning Students.

Also, thank you to Mr. Black for securing grant money of $400.00 for our grade nine students sustainability project. Our Apple Dumpling Gang should be able to make some nice improvements to our Butterfly Garden.

Transportation 2021-22

Dear Families;

In preparation for next year, please ensure that you have read the Transportation Services FAQ (attached).

As well, I invite you to visit the GYPSD website to read Board Policy 17 - Transportation Services, Appendix A, Transportation Fees, and Appendix B, Occasional Rider Request Form to ensure you are informed of the Board's policies on Transportation Services. Any and all current services that do not meet the criteria set out by Board Policy 17 will not be offered for the 2021/22 school year and beyond.

Please take the time to inform yourself of the Board Policy so if needed, you have time over the summer to make changes or alternate arrangements.

If you have specific questions about your transportation arrangements, please don't hesitate to call myself or Transportation at the GYPSD Division office for clarification .

Learning In Action

Eagle

Since February, the Grade 1-2 students have been observing a bald eagle nest in Whiterock, BC by live cam. They watched the parent eagles fix up the nest, line the nest and lay 1 egg. The egg hatched a few days ago and this morning, for the first time, the grade 1-2 students were able to see the new eaglet. It was a thrilling and joyful few moments!

Simple Machines

Students constructed Rube Goldberg Machines at home for our Mechanical Systems unit, they took video of the machines working. The machines use a complex system of simple machines to do a simple task.
