Eagle Staff December Performances
Eagle Staff Ravens SOAR!
We nurture leaders who are engaged scholars, artists, and activists, and build a safe and healthy environment for all.
November 23, 2021
Dear Eagle Staff families,
Thank you for your patience as we await the final details of our winter concerts on Tuesday December 7 (Orchestra & Guitar) and Thursday December 9 (Eagle Staff Bands).
Unlike previous years in which we pack out our Commons and enjoy beautiful music from our amazing students, this year required much more planning and deliberation due to COVID mandates and our shared mission to ensure the health of our community. Below are the details for our upcoming concerts, which follow the guidelines set forth by Seattle Schools.
- One (1) family member per student may attend the in-person winter concert
- Every attendee must complete this form prior to entering the concert.
- Audience members must certify that they are fully vaccinated and complete the Seattle Schools Health attestation.
- Masks will be required throughout the concert for all audience members. During the performance, audience members will be spaced out 6 feet apart.
- We will be livestreaming the event via Microsoft Teams Live Event, the district-approved platform, so that families near and far can enjoy the performances of their students. The link will be sent out a few days before the event.
Note From Mr. Aguilar:
On a personal note, I fully understand that these requirements may cause frustration to families who were greatly looking forward to bringing as many relatives as possible to the performance. As I alluded to at the beginning of this email, the Eagle Staff concerts that I am used to are the ones with huge crowds and thunderous applause throughout the night. While we are inching closer and closer to those days, there are still measures that we have to take in order to ensure the maximum safety of our students and families, given the parameters of our performance area. Please note that these requirements were what were approved by the District and I can ensure you that lots of thought and brainstorming was put into the decision-making process. More importantly, these requirements were the best-case scenario in ensuring that at least one family member of each and every student can be present to support their child. It is my hope that the livestream (which will include upgraded video and audio equipment) will still allow family members from far and wide to enjoy the celebration as if they were in the Commons. Regardless of status in attending the in-person performance or the livestream, I hope we can all come together in-person and virtually to celebrate the learning and success of our students thus far and be proud of the musical excellence that they will surely showcase on December 7th and December 9th.
As always, please let us know if you have any questions.
Looking forward to the Winter Concerts!
