Weekly Update ~ April 18, 2022
News from Mrs. Barnabee and Mr. Murray
This week two of our Oak Grove staff members were nominated for the 1st Annual Lake County Educator of the Year Ceremony - Mr. Logan Farris for the category of Middle School Classroom Teacher and Mr. Rob Rendon for the category of Educational Service Personnel. They give their very best to everything they do each day; Mr. Rob and Mr. Farris are both gifts to our community. They are role models who exude positive effects on our school environment. It is with great pride that we share Lake County’s recognition of Mr. Rob and Mr. Farris!

Reading is Hydro-Mite!
Reading is fun and so is tossing water at Mrs. Barnabee, Mr. Murray, and Ms. Waehner!
We are offering a “Splash Into Summer Reading Challenge” for Kindergarten through 4th grade students to encourage all of them to READ, READ, READ! As a family, you will decide how many minutes your child will read each week and the best way to keep track of the minutes read. Registering your child for Reading is Hydro-Mite couldn’t be easier. Either click on the link below or simply respond to the email that has been sent directly to you. We will check on your child’s progress each week, with an email! A simple click of a button is all that is necessary! Each child that participates will earn bragging rights for meeting their goal, the wonderful experience of reading, and being able to toss a cup of water at the administrator of their choice! What could be more motivating?
Happy Reading!

Field Day is Returning!
We are so excited that Field Day will be returning this year! It will be held on Friday, May 27th which is an early dismissal day, so it will be a fun morning for all K-8 students. In order for this morning to be successful, we are going to need A LOT of parent volunteers from 8-11:30am. Grab a friend and sign up for a station that sounds fun! Please feel free to email Dana Huennekens or Bev Smith with any questions.
