I hope you enjoying a wonderful summer! I am honored to serve Royse City High School as principal in a community that I consider home and love. If you are new to Royse City, welcome to the Bulldog Family! Our Royse City family is something special!
Our Royse City High School team has had the opportunity to engage and grow in many professional learning opportunities, see our students excel in Summer School, Summer Practice and Summer Conditioning. enjoy some time off and plan for the 2023-2024 school year. We are extremely excited for our students to return and learn in our newly renovated building and open our CCA expansion!
At RCHS, we support our students and families through a House Concept. Students are assigned a House Office according to last name or Associate Degree/Ptech students. Please contact your student's House team first for any of your student's academic or high school needs. Click here for support information.

Have you completed your student's Back to School Forms?
All new and returning students will register online at www.rcisd.org by clicking on the Family Access tab.
Online Required Schools Forms for all RCISD students are available in Family Access. If you do not know your Family Access login credentials, please email FamilyAccessSupport@rcisd.org and include your child’s name and campus. Using Family Access, parents will have real time data about their child’s grades, attendance, assignments and more. Alerts can be set to your individual preferences and the information is easily accessed using the Family Access.
If you have a new child entering school this year, you can add them in your already existing Family Access account. For Family Access help or login credentials, please email FamilyAccessSupport@rcisd.org. Be sure to include your name, your child’s name and the campus of attendance.

STUDENT SCHEDULES
All online Back to School Forms must be completed in Family Access in order to view schedule.
Schedules will be released online through Family Access.
August 9th Juniors and Seniors may view and walk schedule at RCHS 2:00-5:00 (Schedules will be released in Family Access, pick up parking passes, chromebooks, Bus ID and Student IDs)
August 11th Sophomores may view and walk schedule 1:00-3:00 (Schedules will be released in Family Access at this time, pick up parking passes, chromebooks, Bus IDs and Student IDs)
August 11 Freshmen will have a chance to view their schedule and walk their schedule during Pup Camp.
Schedules will be live for students to view in the Student Access portal on scheduled time above, (Parents will not be able to view student schedules through their Family Access login until after August 18.)
Final schedules will be available for students on the first day of school in Family Access The reason for the new schedule is due to possible changes from the balancing of classes.

Pup Camp-Freshman Orientation
REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!
We want ALL freshmen to join us for Pup Camp on Friday, August 11th at 4:00pm at RCHS! This experience is designed and led by our RCHS student leaders. It is a chance for students to come and take a tour of the campus, meet their counselors, meet administrators, hear from current RCHS students and gain a level of comfort with the campus before the first day of school. Freshmen will have the chance to view their schedule through family access and tour the campus as well as pick up their ID and Chromebook. Student Chromebooks
C4L (Connected For Learning) provides each of our students the opportunity to receive a Chromebook after paying a user fee of $30.00 by going to www.schoolpay.com or by card at time of Chromebook pickup. The C4L paperwork within Qmlativ Family Access must be completed as part of the online registration process. The online forms must be completed and the fee must be paid before the Chromebook is issued to the student. Please click link to learn more.
All 9th-12th grade students can pick up their Chromebooks at RCHS on the following dates and times:
● Tuesday, August 9th- 11th & 12th Grade Students 2:00pm-5:00pm
● Friday, August 11th- 10th Grade Students 1:00pm-3:00pm
● Friday, August 11th- 9th Grade Students 4:00pm-6:00pm
If you are not able to make these dates/times, another Chromebook roll out will be held the first week of school.
Student ID required for all students.
Students will be required to wear their ID badge at all times. Students will not be able to purchase lunch in the cafeteria or check out library/textbooks without a school issued ID. Everyone will be issued the first ID free of charge. Replacement badges will cost $5.

According to the RCISD Secondary Dress Code Policy: School Issued ID card is required to be worn around student's neck on a lanyard or left chest with ID clip at all times.

RCHS DRESSCODE
Bell Schedule
Our first class starts at 8:25am and our last class ends at 3:52pm. The building will open at 8:00am and students will be released to head towards their classes at 8:15am. The release bell to head to classes will ring at 8:15am and 1st period will begin at 8:25am. The school day will end at 3:52pm and tutorials will be each afternoon from 3:52pm-4:15pm by appointment only.

OFF CAMPUS LUNCH RESERVED FOR JUNIORS/SENIORS
The privilege of leaving campus for lunch is reserved for students who are classified as juniors and seniors and meet the following criteria:
Parent Permission form on file.
Passing all classes at the end of reporting periods per UIL standards.
Possession of current school year identification badge.
Meet 90% Rule on Attendance monitored every 9 week grading period.
Have no In School or Out of School suspensions per 9 week grading period.
Have no more than 5 tardies in a 9 week grading period.
Seniors and Juniors will have the opportunity to have off campus lunch with submission of a parent form and student form located in Qmaltiv-Family Access.
**Please note that the Off Campus permission form is located in Family Access and has two parts. Parents will need to login complete parent permission form and students will need to login to their Family Access account and complete student agreement form. Off Campus Lunch forms are available now for Seniors and Juniors only.
To ensure off campus lunch the first day of school, please have form completed before Schedule Walk and ID pick up on August 9th. If a Junior or Senior chooses to stay on campus for lunch, Seniors and Juniors will have the opportunity to purchase lunch in our mobile kiosk which will be located in the CCA Commons area.
Our Seniors and Juniors will continue to have the privilege of managing their studies and extracurricular through tutorials and clubs during their 65 minute lunch period.
***ALL FORMS MUST BE FILLED OUT AND COMPLETED BEFORE ID PICK UP AUGUST 9th to ensure off campus lunch for first day of school.

Instructional Use of Personal Telecommunications and Other Electronic Devices
Students must obtain prior approval to use personal telecommunications or other personal
electronic devices for instructional purposes while on campus.
Students must also sign a user agreement that contains applicable rules for use (separate from this handbook).All personal devices must be turned off during the instructional day when not in use for approved instructional purposes. Violations of the user agreement may result in withdrawal of privileges and other disciplinary action.
This is how RCHS will allow personal device usage during the instructional day at RCHS:
Cell phones may be used in hallway during passing periods and scheduled lunch time..
Upon entering the classroom, all cell phones and listening devices must be turned off and placed inside backpacks or designated area..
During scheduled class period, all cell phones and listening devices must be turned off and placed inside backpacks.
If out, cell phones and electronic listening devices will be picked up and turned into the office.
Parents must pick up the electronics.
