Congratulations, Braydon!!!!
In December, BRCF announced Corbin Maurice, a senior at Triton Central High School, as the 2022 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship (LECS) recipient. Since that time, Corbin has respectfully declined the award. Please join us in congratulating Shelby County’s Lilly Endowment Scholar for 2022 – Braydon Povinelli.
Braydon is the son of Ronald Povinelli and Kim Povinelli. He will graduate in May from Shelbyville High School and plans to attend Indiana University to major in biochemistry. Braydon’s future career plan is to work as an anesthesiologist.
At the time of application, Bradyon was ranked third in his graduating class and his GPA was 4.52 on a 4.0 scale. He is a member of the Shelbyville High School math (captain), science, and interdisciplinary academic teams, and is a member of Student Council, Quiz League, and National Honor Society (Treasurer in 2021). Braydon is an accomplished chess player, winning numerous tournaments including the 2021 Indiana State Chess Championship. In his spare time, Braydon volunteers at MHP and collaborates with Drug Free Shelby County on a family based preventative services program. He recently held a chess exhibition fundraiser raising over $3,000 for Drug Free Shelby County.
The Shelbyville High School community is proud of you, Braydon!
