2021-2022 FFA Awards Banquet
Indiana Association of Agricultural Educators
Blue River Valley's Agriculture department is part of District IX in the state.
In total, there are 16 Ag programs just in our region. So to say the following awards are special, is an absolute understatement. A huge CONGRATULATIONS to Mrs. Chernowsky as well as her entire student body.
2022 IAAE Outstanding Ag Ed Program
2022 IAAE Outstanding Agricultural Education Teacher Award
MEC Star Recognition Banquet
The MEC Star Award was designed to recognize two students from each of the ten Mid-Eastern Conference schools. The students must be seniors who have shown such characteristics as academics, citizenship, leadership, and service. This award is based on the all-around student who is a true asset to school and community.
Each of the students who receive the MEC Star Award is asked to choose a teacher who has been the most influential in their success in school. These teachers will also be recognized, along with the MEC Star Award Winners.
The program is designed to be positive in nature and uplifting to the spirit for both students and teachers. In no way is the program an attempt to single out an individual school’s best student or best teacher. The program’s sole purpose is to demonstrate to students and teachers that outstanding performance is both valued and appreciated.

Ally Madden MEC Star Teacher Choice
"My MEC Star Teacher is Terry Bales. I chose him as my MEC Star Teacher because he has been more than just a teacher to me. He was also my high school basketball coach. He has had my back throughout the years, and has been a great supporter throughout my high school career with athletics and academics. Mr. Bales has always listened to my concerns with school, and when I needed additional help he was always there. He truly cares about his students and how they’re doing, and not only in the class setting. He was there for me when I needed people the most. He has gone above and beyond to make sure students get the best education possible. If you ever needed help, he made sure you got it. I can not truly thank him enough for all he has done for me throughout these years. I will forever be grateful to be able to not only call him my teacher, but also my coach. "
