Please contact the school via email (shsattendance@rockingham.k12.va.us), phone (540) 289-3100) , or note if your child is absent or tardy to school.

If the school does not hear from a parent or guardian, Mrs. Cumberland, the attendance clerk, will make calls to speak with a parent or guardian every day that your child is absent to verify the absence.

Administration will determine whether or not absences are excused based on the nature of the absence.

If a parent or guardian does not contact the school via email, phone, or note, or does not speak with Mrs. Cumberland, the absence remains UV (unverified) and the school will take action in accordance with the RCPS attendance policy as defined below.

Notes from a doctor, counselor, therapist, specialist, or medical professional may be requested at any time. These notes can be sent via email if that is convenient for the parent or guardian.
