WAUWATOSA MONTESSORI SCHOOL
November 17th, 2023
Message from the Principal
Dear Wauwatosa Montessori School Family,
Last Saturday, November 11, Ms. Dawson, Ms. Brenner, Ms. Ionina, Mrs. Grassmann, Ms. Rosich and Principal Pallin attended the Wisconsin Montessori Association conference at Fernwood Montessori School in Milwaukee. We left with fresh ideas to bring into our classrooms and an even deeper passion for our Montessori philosophy. We continue to be very grateful for our District’s support for implementing Montessori best practices. Thank you again to our staff members who dedicated their time on Saturday to engage in this professional learning opportunity.
Virtue of the Month: Gratitude Freely expressing thankfulness and appreciation to others and for the gifts of life. An attitude of gratitude for living, learning, loving and being.

Staffing Update:
Tuesday, November 17 was Ms. Bethany Migdal’s (guidance counselor) last day with us at Wauwatosa Montessori School. We want to thank Mrs. Migdal for her service. We wish Mrs. Migdal the best of luck in her next adventure.
In partnership with the Division of Pupil Supports, we have begun the search for a Social Worker. The School Social Worker is a trained mental health professional who provides an ecological approach to promote student success and is the link between home, school, and community. The posting for this position is live on WECAN. We will begin scheduling interviews, and based on the candidate pool, I am hopeful that we will have a preferred candidate following those interviews. I will send additional communication to Wauwatosa Montessori School stakeholders when I have an update on the hiring process.
Thank you for your understanding and trust in our staff as we expeditiously work to hire a highly-qualified School Social Worker to serve our community.
Security Update from Kevin Heus, Wauwatosa School District Buildings and Grounds Supervisor:
We are now LIVE with the secured entry lobby at Montessori. All staff will now need to use their badge to enter the office as well as to enter the school from the lobby as well. There is a button to operate both the office door and the school hallway door on Char's desk.
PLEASE DO NOT prop any of these doors open like they were in the past. This obviously defeats the purpose of having a locked and secured entry. Additionally, the 2 classrooms that have doors leading from their rooms to the lobby must stay LOCKED and CLOSED at all times. If a person is needing to access the office from one of these rooms, they MUST walk around through the hallway and enter the office that way. The only reason those doors should be used is for when there is a fire drill or something of that nature. They should not be used on a daily basis to access the lobby.
Pie Feasts (CH, LE and UE) and Applesauce Making (AP):
On Tuesday, November 21 the CH, LE, and UE classrooms will be having Classroom Community Pie Feasts!
