Welcome March ... Bring on Spring!
Our first-grade students enjoyed time at the Ipswich Wildlife Sanctuary, learning about maple sugaring, and they were able to see how sap is collected, and maple syrup is made. Hearing all the knowledge, the students had absorbed before and after this trip was impressive. Many tried a sample of their homemade syrup, which they found delicious.
Our 5th-grade students were fortunate to have presenters from Salem Sound Coastwatch and Greenscapes Coalition this week. They provided an engaging, hands-on learning opportunity for our 5th graders, which provided them with information on keeping water clean. Most importantly, they were taught how they could be better stewards of their local water resources. Many thanks to Salem Sound Coastwatch and our parent and community volunteers!
On Friday, Grades 3 through 5 were treated to an early performance of "Beverly Billingsly Takes a Bow" by the RHS Drama Festival cast and crew. The play, based on the book by Alexander Stadler, is an original piece that the students wrote. The high school students will participate in the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild State Drama Festival this weekend. Our students were thrilled to be invited and enjoyed the show. THANKS to the RHS Drama Llamas and Mrs. Rose for including us.
We are excited to start the third and final part of the school year as we move into the transformation that spring brings to the weather, the colors in nature, and the growth of our students. We are wrapping up our 2nd trimester of school, and report cards will be published the week of March 13th. Remember that there is a half day of school next Tuesday for students; our teachers will all be taking part in another important professional development opportunity about literacy on this day.
Happy Weekend!

These acts will help us highlight Martin Richard's message of inclusion, kindness, justice, and peace. Kindness Bingo Cards will be available for students to track their progress. Students can’t learn if they’re not in school. Students who attend school regularly have been shown to achieve at higher levels. Consistent attendance strengthens academic progress as students are present to participate in interactive class activities and discussions. While there are legitimate reasons that may cause a student to miss school, frequent absences quickly add up to learning loss.
