Fourth-grade parents, please remember that we will be having a celebration in honor of your children completing elementary school on Monday, June 3, 2019. The Final Walk for our 4th graders will begin promptly at 9:00 am with the program beginning at 9:15 am and will end no later than 10:15. If you plan on attending, please park at the back of the building and enter the doors closest to the gymnasium (door 4). Please, no parking in this lot until after all buses have left for morning dismissal.

Backpacks

We are asking that no student backpacks or similar items be brought to school on the last day, June 3. We look forward to having a wonderful last week of school with your children! Mrs. Smith

KONA ice truck will be here next week on Thursday and Friday for the students' field days. K-2 is Thursday, 3-4 is Friday both days from 12-3 Price ranges from $2- $5.

Beginning in the 2019-20 school year, Warren will be implementing a three-tier transportation schedule. As a result, there are new school start times for our students. These changes will allow us to provide a safer and more; efficient transportation experience for our students. More information will be available on our website and at registration on July 16, 2019.

High School (Grades 9-12) - 7:15am—2:20pm

Elementary School (Grades K-4) - 8:05am—3:05pm

Intermediate/Middle School (Grades 5-8—8:55am—3:55pm Warren Early Childhood Center * Renaissance—8:55am—3:55pm

Warren Township will offer Summer Enrichment opportunities over the summer to elementary students, kindergarten-4th grade. There will be a charge of $10.00 per student, per class. More information about how to sign up will be available next week.

JUNE 24 – 28 at Lakeside Elementary 8:45 A.M. – 11:45 A.M.

*Drumming All the Way—Students will be part of a collaborative group that will demonstrate the ability to play together and support each other’s unique personal rhythm. Students will gain an understanding of the importance of drum circles.

*Candy Experiments—We will conduct candy themed science experiments.

*Learning in the Garden—Hands-on learning about soil, plants, seeds, and many other gardening related skills.

July 8 – 12 at Lakeside Elementary 8:45 A.M. – 11:45 A.M.

*Math Games Galore—Students will participate in fun and competitive math games with their peers. Students will be able to make and take games at camp for at home play!

*Dinosaur Explorers—Explorers, be ready to learn about and investigate dinosaurs and fossils they left behind for us to find.

*Understanding Robotics—Engineering is COOL! Using the components of a VEX IQ building system, students will design, build, and test parts of a robot which include the drive train, lift system, and claws in order to play the game, “Squared Away”.

*Let’s Play Piano—Students will be able to play simple songs using the 5-finger piano method.

If your student has any kind of medication in the school clinic, please be sure to pick this up by our last day of school, Monday, June 3rd. In Warren Township, students grades K-8 are not allowed to transport medication on the school bus; therefore medication must be picked up by a parent or guardian, or someone designated by the parent or guardian over the age of 18 years old. Any medication not picked up by the end of the school day on June 3rd will be disposed of appropriately by our school nurse. We cannot keep medications in the clinic over the summer break. Breakfast is available daily to every student free of charge. Breakfast is served in the classroom from 8:30AM-9:00AM.

Monday, June 3rd is Warren Township's last day of the regular school year (barring no further weather closings). This date has been extended due to the following weather closings: November 15th and January 30th. All students will be dismissed early on this day.

Grades K-4 will be dismissed at 2:30 pm

Grades 5 - 12 will be dismissed at 1:30 pm

We currently have many personal items in the Lost and Found bins located in the school clinic. Please check with your child and if they are missing any clothing, jackets, books, lunchboxes, or other personal items, please have them check our bins. Any item not claimed by the end of the year will be donated to a worthy charity.

It’s that time of year when we need to remind student to make sure they have appropriate clothing for recess. The district policy states students will be going outside for recess if the temperature and the wind chill are above 20 degrees. We have extra coats, hats, and gloves for students in need. Please contact the front office if you need assistance.

Students must go outside unless we have a doctor statement.

While we love to celebrate, please remember that there is a “no birthday treats “ guideline. Also, note that no birthday invitations are allowed to be distributed at school. It is school policy.

The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or your child’s school. This may include your child’s photo, your child’s name or your child’s work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos. We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child’s achievements. We never knowingly release information about a student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes. However, we will honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognitions if you notify your child’s school office in writing that you do not want this type of information released.
