Happy Friday! I hope you all are enjoying your much needed day off. Next week is full of great things like Lunch with a Loved one and our Spring Book Fair and of course Valentine's Day is Monday! Have a great weekend and get some rest!

Thank you for being attentive during yesterday's training. Our campus will focus on using the gradual release model and implementing aggressive monitoring during the "You Do" portion of the lesson campus wide. This is a campus expectation. If you need more help on implementing the gradual release model or aggressive monitoring, please let us know.

Regardless of the variation, each takes a stepped approach to promote the successful and meaningful transfer of knowledge from the teacher to the student. The original “I Do – We Do – You Do” teaching strategy is often expanded to a four-step model that includes an “I Do – We Do – You Do It Together – You Do It Alone” progression.

To start, the teacher takes center stage in providing direct instruction and modeling. As the lesson progresses, students become the stars with collaborative peer work, followed by the independent practice where they show what they know without prompting.

This week our Pre- K students in Mrs. Salazar's class created a picture of Mozart during their literacy lesson and learned about Joan Miró while studying shapes!

You are welcome to bring your own lunch or you may purchase a lunch from the cafeteria and then take your child to the library to visit our spring Scholastic Book Fair afterwards.
