Great News For Johnson County Schools
Also, last week students at Johnson Central participated in a club day that involved numerous national student organizations along with many other school specific clubs. This is part of our efforts to find a way for each and every student to have a connection to school beyond their regular curriculum. We feel that it is very important for students to connect with their teachers and other adults in our building. Club day gives students a chance to meet new people and be involved in their individual interests.
Teacher Spotlight- Mrs. Angelica Meade
Greetings! My name is Angelica Cristata Meade and I am thrilled to say this is my 14th year teaching. I grew up in Johnson County, Kentucky and graduated high school from Johnson Central in 2003. Go EAGLES! While a student at JCHS, I cheered and ran track and field. I was also a member of BETA, DECA, FCA and the SPIRIT club. As an alumnus of Morehead State University, I have earned a Bachelor of Arts in Science & Mathematics Education and a Master of Arts in School Guidance Counseling.
I began my teaching career in the Mason County School District. There, I taught middle school science and coached track and field and cross country for eleven years. After my husband relocated jobs we moved back to Johnson County. This is my third year teaching math and science at JCHS.
Teaching is my passion, but I also enjoy camping, the caves, fishing, four-wheeling, the planetarium, the beach, watching movies, Christmas, candles, pedicures, and spending time with family. My husband and I have two beautiful children. Braelyn, seven, attends Highlands Elementary. She is into dance (tap, jazz, and ballet), gymnastics, and Minecraft. Branson Tate is four years old. Currently, he attends Our Lady of the Mountain School and spends most of his time playing dinosaurs.
Whether at work or at home, I am truly on an adventure! It is because of my desire to explore and learn about the world around me that I, too, love teaching. Johnson County is a loving and supportive community and an amazing place for students to learn and grow. I am grateful to have returned home and excited to see what the future holds!
