Mark your calendars!
Spring Concert
Now that spring is here, it is approaching the time of our last Elementary Music Concert of the
year! This concert is going to be a fun way to showcase songs that the students have been
working on in music class. We have some goofy songs that are meant to make you laugh and
some more serious songs. This concert will be about an hour long and will take place May 18th at 6 p.m. This concert will feature Young 5’s-4th grade as opposed to the last concert that was only K.C. Ling students. The procedure will be to have students sit with their parents and I will call them up by grade. Once each grade has performed, I will dismiss the students back to their parents or guardians to enjoy the rest of the concert! This concert is not required but the students have been working really
hard practicing these songs. This concert is a wonderful way to showcase their hard work!
I hope to see everyone there. 🙂 Please email me if you have any questions at hawkins@hemlockps.com.
Sincerely,
Kylie Hawkins

Summer Art Camp Opportunity
Spring is in the air! Soon we will be seeing the colors of spring all around us. One way to bring new energy and life into our bodies is to eat color! You should have 5 servings of fruits and vegetables every day. Have one of every color! Each colorful fruit or vegetable you eat brings its unique blend of vitamins and minerals that our bodies need to thrive! Eat what's in season. When we eat the fruits and veggies that are in season, we are getting them at their peak times. Here are a few in season right now: arugula, beets, carrots, radishes, spinach, apples, grapefruits, kiwis, mangos, and strawberries. Healthy food means a healthy heart. We get one lifetime and one heart. So let's take care of it.
Go Heart Healthy Huskies!!
