CV students created Veterans Day cards throughout last week. Mrs. Marx and family were able to deliver the cards to the Vet Center in Orange County!

On Wednesday, Villa Park HS hosted the 2nd annual middle school X-Country Meet. Cerro Villa had 7 runners participate. Race distance was 2 miles.

Girls: Bethany Pannier, Clair Struck, Cecilia McCall and Ashley Carmona.
Boys: Paul Hermann, Leo Atherton, Ben Zumaya

Special Congratulations to Bethany Pannier - 3rd place overall, 13:48 (girls) and Paul Herman - 2nd place overall, 12:52 (boys)

2023 MS XC Final Results

CV's 8th grade Honor Society students participated in their first field trip to Concourse Bowling Center.

The Viking Culture this year is to "Win the Day". We challenge all students and staff to pick 1 goal each day to accomplish. When you have succeeded with that 1 goal, you have "Won the Day!"

Here are a few ways to "Win the Day"

• "Flip the Script" on struggles/challenges and make them successes!
• Follow "Kaizen" - strive for continuous improvement each day!
• "Be Kind" - smile, say hello, look out for your fellow vikings! Remember - everyone is going through a battle we may not know.. Be Kind Always!

Leadership students are collecting canned food for the local Fire Department to deliver to families in need for the holiday season.

Collection of canned foods will take place in homeroom classes. Let's "Win the Day" by participating in this time of giving!

November is National Diabetes Month, a time when communities across the country seek to bring attention to diabetes. This year's focus is on taking action to prevent diabetes health problems. “Diabetes is a disease that occurs when your blood glucose, also called blood sugar, is too high.

Friday will be designated as "WEAR BLUE DAY, FOR DIABETES AWARENESS"

El Modena Middle School Soccer Camp hosted by Orange Unified Public Schools Foundation is scheduled for Saturday, November 18th at El Modena High School!

Calling all middle school students that are interested in playing soccer for the Girls’ or Boys’ program at El Modena High School. You are invited to a FREE soccer camp that is being hosted by the Orange Unified Public Schools Foundation. Come out for a morning of fun competition and the opportunity to meet some of the players and coaching staff of both programs.

Beginning Trimester 2, every Wednesday will be designated as College / Career Day. Students are encouraged to wear their College / Career shirts on every Wednesday! Show off your future college or career shirt!

A few CV staff members are participating in "No Shave November". Typically, No Shave November is to bring awareness to prostate cancer. The goal is to see who has the best beard or mustache by the end of November! Let's cheer on our contestants:

• Mini Dancer Clinic - Sunday, January 14th
• Varsity Basketball Game – Tuesday, January 16th

Participants will experience the excitement of being a VPHS dance team member! Your VPHS Dance Team and Coaches will share our latest dances!

During the dance clinic: each participant will have the opportunity to learn skills, train with our athletes, ask questions of our coaching staff, and most of all have a great time dancing in front of our Spartan Families!

Each Mini Dancer is ALSO invited to dance with our Spartan Dance Teams at a Varsity Basketball Game on January 16th during half-time. Registration deadline: December 14th.

The Cerro Villa Parent Faculty Student Organization (PFSO) is a non-profit organization that assists the faculty and staff in enhancing the education experiences of our children.

​The PFSO assists with many programs around the school, including dances, Student of the Month, Honor Society, and the 8th Grade Promotion Party. Without your support, these events would not be possible. Most importantly, the PFSO also supports the faculty and staff at Cerro Villa in acquiring items they need for their classrooms in order to enhance our children’s educational experiences.

LCAP Survey - FLYER - LCAP opens on Monday, October 23rd

The state of California requires each school district to create a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) annually. Orange Unified School District conducts a survey each year to gather information from a variety of educational partners including students (grades 3-12), parents, community members and staff regarding the OUSD learning environment that contributes to the production of high academic achievement levels for all students.

This LCAP survey is anonymous, and the collective results will be shared during Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) meetings to guide local priority development, actions, expenditures, and services related to the conditions of learning, achievement outcomes, safety, and educational partner engagement. We value each respondent, and it is important that we get a representative sample from our community.

STUDENT OPT-OUT FORM:

Per Board Policy 5020.1(a), you have the option to EXEMPT your child from participating. If you DO NOT want your child to participate in the LCAP survey, please indicate so by signing and returning the form below to the main office.

If we do not receive an OPT-OUT form from you, we will assume you are choosing to have your child participate in the LCAP survey.
