Happy Holidays!
Happy Holidays!
As we bid farewell to 2023 on the last day before the break, please consider these three tips for a restful and meaningful holiday:
Connect with Loved Ones: Whether it's family or friends, use this break to strengthen your connections. Share stories, laughter, and create cherished memories that will sustain you in the upcoming year.
Rest and Recharge: Take time for yourself to relax and rejuvenate. Whether it's through a good book, a favorite hobby, or simply unwinding with your favorite music, prioritize self-care to ensure you return in January with renewed energy.
Reflect and Set Intentions: As the year comes to a close, reflect on your achievements and growth. Consider setting positive intentions for the upcoming year, focusing on personal and academic goals that will propel you forward.
As a friendly reminder, we will return to school on January 3rd, ready to embark on a new chapter of learning and growth. With the end of the quarter fast approaching on January 19th, I encourage each of you to use this break wisely to prepare for a strong finish. Your dedication to academic excellence is truly commendable, and I have no doubt that you will return ready to tackle the challenges that lie ahead.
May your holidays be filled with warmth, joy, and the love of those who matter most. Take this time to rest, recharge, and come back in January with renewed focus and determination.
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season!
Warm regards,
CMIT Admin Team

**Chemistry Honors Classes Unveil Characteristics of Ionic Bond Through Experiments**
The chemistry laboratory at CMIT has recently been abuzz with excitement as students from Chemistry Honors dove into a hands-on exploration of ionic bonds.
The first phase of the experiment, students compared the melting points of various substances, keenly observing changes on boiling water and flame. In the second part of the experiment, the students used conductivity meters to measure the conductivity of solutions containing these substances. This step was crucial in understanding the role of ions in solution and how they facilitate the flow of electrical current. The measurements not only honed their laboratory skills but also deepened their comprehension of the conductive properties inherent to ionic compounds. These practical explorations provided valuable insights into the nature of ionic bonds and how they influence the physical properties of compounds.
The engaged atmosphere in the laboratory reflected the students' enthusiasm as they connected theoretical knowledge to real-world observations. The Chemistry Honor course continues to uphold its commitment to providing students with an enriching and dynamic learning experience. The success of this experiment underscores the school's dedication to fostering a culture of scientific inquiry and hands-on exploration.
Science Olympiad
Science Olympiad students who do Towers event went on preparations. They completed building 2nd tower of the season and tested the Tower for efficiency. CMIT Debate Continues Its Excellent Season!
On Saturday December 16 CMIT North Golden Tiger Debate Team continued it's excellent season with a 5th place finish by our JV team of Christian Medina and Franklyn Galley. The President of our Debate League noted that the technical information and explanations in the case were excellent and that it should enable the team to do very well at National Qualifiers next month. Our Varsity, JV, and Novice teams continue to consistently place across the monthly local tournaments and are making a strong showing in the travel tournaments. For the first time ever CMIT North is on track to attend and place at every single local debate tournament this year.
At other tournaments this season the varsity team of Aisha Mbaye and Nifemi Abass placed in the JV division and Aisha Mbaye won the JV division at the October tournament as the first place speaker!
Other novice and JV teams, including Nadia Popoola and Rhett Rohena -Soliz , Christian Medina and Rhett Rohena-Soliz, and Atalya Thomas and Moriah Oshinnaye have also placed at Fall tournaments.
Check out these photos to see some of our hard work, winning, and team building.

Behavioral Science Club
The Behavioral Science Club is made up of students interested in this field as a Hobby and/or Career Path.
Research is a major part of what we do and love and we have a Research Wish List to make even the most prestigious of Researchers lean in!
Recently, we curated a list of research questions to participate in NIH's Brain Initiative: Brain Behavior Quantification and synchronization-Transformative models of Behavior Analysis
In a nutshell, we are discussing how Behavior is observed, quantified and how the findings might be used to self modify one's behavior and how understanding self modification might lead to a better understanding of the motives and instincts of others.
Behavior Modification is our gig!
The Behavior Science Club meets every Tuesday after school (3pm-4:15pm).
