IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!
It's the most wonderful time of the year, and our high school is absolutely brimming with holiday cheer! A huge shout-out to everyone involved in making our high school a merry and welcoming place. during this special season!
STUDENT COUNCIL FOOD DRIVE RESULTS!
Mora High School Student Council hosted their annual Holiday Drive. Each grade competed to bring in the most food and money donations. The 8th and 10th grade classes were the winners and will be receiving a grade-level reward. Overall, there were 2,600 combined food and money donations. The food was donated to the high school's Food for Friends student food shelf. The money collected was used to buy toys for Kanabec County's Toys for Tots, and was also donated to Food for Friends and the Mora Community Food Pantry. Thank you to ALL of the MHS students and their families who donated to the Holiday Drive for making a difference for our school and community!
Pictured are three MHS Student Council members who dropped off the toys they selected for Toys for Tots with the money raised from the Holiday Drive!

HEALTH OFFICE TIDBITS ON COVID AND SICK GUIDELINES
1) We still have COVID tests in the health office available for students (and their families). They are the BinaxNow tests, and the results are pretty quick (they say they take 15 minutes).
2) If your student tests positive for COVID, it is recommended they quarantine for the 5 days from symptom onset. However, the more important things are to be fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications, and symptom improvement. So as long as they are fever free, their symptoms have improved and they feel well enough to be here, then they may return to school.
3) If your student tests negative for COVID, but has symptoms (cold/flu/GI, etc.), please follow the above guidelines. Fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications, and feeling well enough to be here.
4) If your student has been exposed to COVID, they may still come to school unless they are exhibiting symptoms and are not feeling well enough to be here/with fever.
5) If your student is ill (and you do not test for COVID). Please still follow the sick guidelines. Fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications, no vomiting/diarrhea for 24 hours and feeling well enough to be here.
MENSTRUAL PRODUCTS IN SCHOOL RESTROOMS
Starting at the new year, both the Mora Elementary and High School will be providing students menstrual products that will be available to them in the bathrooms. This change is due to the Minnesota Legislature that goes into effect January 2024; the change is specifically directed towards grades 4-12. The passage of this bill makes Minnesota the 16th state to mandate free menstrual products in schools. If you have any questions, please reach out to the Elementary or High School Health Office.
