Great Oregon ShakeOut

Next week, students at all of our schools will participate in the “Great Oregon ShakeOut” earthquake drill, happening on Thursday, October 17th at 10:17 a.m. This drill is an opportunity for our students and staff to practice earthquake safety by learning how to quickly respond within the school environment.

For more information, please visit the “ShakeOut” web page, which provides valuable resources for students, staff and parents.

Elementary Boundary Adjustment Process

Sherwood School District has begun a process to adjust our elementary school boundaries for the 2020-2021 school year. The opening of the new high school, which will be followed by the shifting of school buildings through our Transformations projects, will create a need to adjust boundaries to ensure that enrollment is balanced across the District, while also accounting for capacity needed for future enrollment growth.

An eight person committee, made up of two parents from each elementary school, has begun meeting to look at potential adjustments. The committee will be holding public forums to solicit community feedback on November 4 and December 16. A recommendation will be made to the school board in January.

For more information, please visit the Boundary Adjustment Website at:

Latino Family Community Forum

Our first Latino Family Community Forum of the 2019-20 school year will take place on Tuesday, October 22. Please click flyer below for more info.

Budget Committee Vacancies - Applications Due November 8, 2019

The SSD Board of Directors is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill two vacancies on the Sherwood School District Budget Committee.

Budget Committee positions #3 and #5 are open due to the expiration of the terms of Derek Olson and Mike Babjak. These positions have three-year terms, which will expire on June 30, 2022. Applications from interested parties must be turned in by November 8, 2019, in order to be considered. The Board intends to appoint the new members at its regular meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, December 11, 2019.
