HELP NEEDED: Please help your child to review their strategies for our double-digit addition quiz next week.
Have a great weekend and Gooooo Astros! (My son played with a few of the current players. Hoping they can take it all the way since our poor Guardians didn't make it.)
Thank you!
Great Reads
- We read our set of Interactive Read Alouds that were written by Seymore Simon. Our books included: Frogs; Dolphins; Penguins, Dogs, and Cats.
- We also read a few short chapters in a Flat Stanley series book for First Chapter Friday!
- Please ensure that your child reads at home daily to support our efforts. Thank you!
Math Mania
We are wrapping up our exploration of double-digit addition strategies next week and will be moving onto double-digit subtraction.
Please have your child practice his/her math facts often. Practice…practice…practice is the name of the game.

Halloween Fun
Classroom parties will take place on Friday, October 27th. Children are permitted to wear a simple Halloween costume to school on this day. Please see the costume guidelines below.
- Costumes should not impact the student's ability to be transported to school nor impact their ability to participate in learning activities throughout the day.
- Masks are not permitted as part of the costume.
- Children are to WEAR THEIR COSTUMES TO SCHOOL and will keep them on throughout the day.
- Costumes should be fun and appropriate as opposed to costumes that depict blood, violence, death, or gruesome in nature. Offensive costumes should not be worn and no weapons or fake blood should be brought to school.
- Makeup or face paint should not be a part of your child’s costume for school.
- Please plan for costumes to be comfortable and not big and bulky, as students will be wearing them throughout the day.
