Holly and Ivy Dance
For Parents of Senior Parents
We are excited to announce that in working with our student leadership, we have developed a plan whereby we can hold our Holly & Ivy Dance without masks, and with minimal risk of creating close contacts that would require a quarantine from school.
Since the beginning of the school year, we have promised our students and parents that NWR would hold events as long as they fall within the COVID guidelines. Ultimately, our focus is on our students' health and safety.
We recently met with the Senior Class Officers and as you can imagine, the Senior Class wants Holly and Ivy to be as normal as possible. With this in mind, the elected Senior Class Officers have come up with what we think is a fantastic idea. In order to have a normal event, without the need to wear masks, all students who wish to attend the Holly and Ivy dance on December 9th at David’s Country Inn, including outside guests, will participate in Covid testing prior to the event. This ensures the safety of all students who attend, all while keeping each individual’s medical information (vaccination status) private. To say we are impressed with their creativity and understanding is an understatement, and we plan to move forward with this suggestion.
Testing Information
North Warren Regional will provide free testing prior to the event for all students and their guests. The State of New Jersey has facilitated testing for our district, through Mirimus. This is a saliva PCR test. They have extended coverage of testing for students.
Detailed instructions on testing will be provided to all students who sign-up. In order to attend the dance, students must be tested through Mirimus. Outside tests will not be permitted as we do not have the resources to collect and verify tests from multiple sources.
Students must complete the online Mirimus consent form, indicating North Warren Regional as recipient of results, by Thursday, December 2nd at 8:00AM. Students will be tested on Tuesday, December 7th between 7:00-9:00am in the nurse’s suite. There are no alternate testing times. The times are set by Mirimus and cannot be changed. You must come to the building at this time to test for the dance.
Students who plan to invite a guest from another school will have to follow additional protocols. The visitor’s school must sign a waiver that ensures they will communicate with NWR should their student test positive following the Holly and Ivy dance. Mrs. Black will have the guest permission form available. This must be completed by Wednesday, December 1, no exceptions.
Once students are registered, a testing kit will arrive at the school. Students will need to report to Ms. Dispoto’s office on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 for testing. North Warren staff do not have access to information that you have provided to Mirimus, only to the final testing result.
