Happy March!
March has seemed to come in like a lamb this year, so hopefully, it doesn't get too lion-like!
Our basketball teams have been extremely busy this past month, playing multiple league games and participating in, hosting and co-hosting multiple tournaments. Several of our teams will be participating in regional and zone playoffs. Thank you so much to all of our coaches for their great support to our teams this year, and all of our volunteers for the tournaments.
We appreciate your continued support of our school this year. We have enjoyed having parents and other members back into our community for sporting events, and we are appreciative to those parents who help with different school events.
Alberta Education Assurance Survey
The survey must be completed by March 17th.
If you have lost or didn't receive any information about the survey, please contact the Systems Assurance Branch by phone at (780) 643-9193 or by email at EDC.SystemAssurance@gov.ab.ca
School Council Meeting - March 14th at 7pm
For any parents who aren't able to attend in person, we will also be providing a Google Meet Link on the day of the meeting. Please email Mr. MacKenzie for the Google Meet Link.
All parents are welcome. This is a fantastic way to be a part of your child's school community. We are looking forward to seeing you.

Congrats to our Senior High Basketball teams!
Our girls came second in the Pastor Charlton this past weekend. They previously won the tournament they attended in Westlock, and came third in the Quint Tournament. The boys team won the consolation side of the Westlock tournament and have played well in their other tournaments this year!
Congrats to our Gr. 12 players as they finish up their season this year. We appreciate your leadership for our teams over the years.
Our Senior GIrls team is off to their Zone playoffs next weekend in Consort. Good luck girls!
French Travel Trip
Over the years, high school students taking French at Hay Lakes School have had the opportunity to participate in travel trips to Quebec. Due to Covid, it has been a few years since our last trip. This spring, I will be having an evening information session to see if there is sufficient interest to plan a trip to Quebec next winter (Jan/Feb 2024). Please stay tuned for further details and a meeting time. If you have any questions, please feel free to send me an email.
Merci! Mme Lunty
A message from Battle River Alternative Centre for Education (BRACE) to students learning by distance
We would like to thank the BRACE shared students for working so hard to stay on track at the start of the semester. Accessing your courses daily, as well as checking emails is important to help stay on track! Please note that we are able to see your log in information in Moodle and how long you are working online each day - weekly reports are available for students and parents. Please email your teacher if you are interested in receiving this and you aren't already doing so.
Remember that your teachers at BRACE are available by phone, email and google meet. It is important you check in with your teacher(s) on a regular basis so that you can have the most success possible.
If you have any questions or concerns, you are welcome to reach out to Mrs. Swanson at 780 672-2205 or lswanson@brsd.ab.ca.
