Summer School Update

June 27 - Main Event Field Trip, 4-8 Group

June 29 - No Summer School - Closed

June 30 - Last Day of Summer School - Water/Movie Day!

We will not have summer school on Wednesday, June 29. The school district will be hosting the services for local fallen firefighter Josh Haynes. Summer school will return for our final day on June 30th.

The 4th-8th grade students will be going to Main Event on Monday, June 27.

This trip is different than our other trips! Please read for important information below.

We will be leaving at 8:30 am and will return at 3:00 pm. We run our regular bus route for the PK-3 students at 1:30 pm. All 4th -8th-grade students will need to be picked up after the field trip at about 3:15 pm. If this plan changes, we will update you as soon as possible!

The student's pass to Main Event includes bowling, pool, shuffleboard, laser tag, and the ropes course. It also includes lunch (pizza and drink) and a $10 game card. Students may choose to bring additional money, but it is not required. Students will need to be able to manage their own money.

Please note the change to Water Day for June 30! Mr. Meik was able to schedule a morning at the pool in LaCygne. Please watch for your student to bring home a permission slip for the pool and movie day!

1:25: Pack up and go home

Swimming and Movie Day:

On Thursday, June 30th, summer school students will head off to LaCygne to swim at their city pool for a morning swim (9-10:30 AM). The pool has a large zero entrance shallow end which will be great for our young swimmers. Please send students to school with a swimming suit and a towel. If your kids burn easily, you will want to send some sunscreen with them, as well.

Following the school-provided lunch, students will finish their amazing summer school session by watching the newly released hit movie, The Bad Guys. Popcorn and treats provided!

We look forward to a fun and relaxing final day together.

All meals are included in the summer school program. Make sure to thank one of our fabulous cafeteria staff for their hard work in the summer! Please send a reusable water bottle, with a lid for your student each day.

Each day the students will have time in the activity class they selected prior to summer school and time in class with their summer school teacher. Junior high students who attend weights/practice may have a modified schedule to accommodate the other programs.

As we get closer to summer school, Mr. Nolan and Mr. Nuzum will design the bus route. They will be calling parents who signed up for transportation with bus stop locations and times.
