Check out FITNESSGRAM results!
The Physical Education Department at Skyview participates in Fitnessgram testing for 5th and 6th grade students in both the Fall and Spring. The Fitnessgram testing DOES NOT measure students against their peers but rather measures students against themselves. Students own their own data. They are put into one of two categories; Healthy or Unhealthy. Every student and parent has easy access to view these results at home. Along with the results information is available how to improve or maintain each of the components of fitness that were tested. Instructions how to sign in and view the results can be found on the students Physical Education teachers web-site under the Fitnessgram link.
Service to Skyview
The tree is being planted this Saturday morning, along with 12 creeping flox. A bronze dedication plaque is on the way that will have two quotes that the kids picked out "Speak for the trees for the trees have no tongues" and "The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is now."

Proud moment for Skyview!
by Character.org May, 2015 – (Eagleville, PA). – Skyview Upper Elementary School in the Methacton School District is pleased to announce that today Character.org, a national advocate and leader for the character education movement, named Skyview a 2015 National School of Character. The Schools of Character program recognizes Skyview as a school that has demonstrated its use of character development to drive a positive impact on academics, student behavior, and Skyview’s climate.
The Schools of Character program is not a competition—but rather an opportunity to go through a rigorous process of feedback and coaching, as well as recognition for growth and excellence in the area of character development through Character.org’s 11 Principles of Effective Character Education framework. Skyview will hold its designation for five years. Character.org will showcase Skyview Upper Elementary School in an annual publication and on its website. Skyview has also earned the right to use the National Schools of Character name and logo. Since its inception, Character.org has awarded over 300 schools with the distinction of a National School of Character. In 2015, along with Skyview Upper Elementary School, 63 additional schools and 3 districts were named across the United States.
