🐄Herdsmanship -Congrats Chisago Dairy🐄
Speaking up for Animal Agriculture- What is herdsmanship?
Answer: A 4-H program to increase consumer awareness!
A critical component of herdsmanship is the way exhibitors positively interact with fair visitors. Speaking Up For Animal Agriculture, sponsored by Minnesota Livestock Breeders Association and Minnesota 4-H, is an activity designed to help 4-H exhibitors showcase a positive image of animal agriculture at the fair.
Chisago Dairy placed third in their species area. Way to go Eddie Mallery, Ally Belsheim, Zoey Buehring, Hannah Mechtal and Emmalee Angstman
Do you know someone who is in grade 3 or older that is interested in science, plants or both?
We’d love for them to join the 4-H agronomy and horticulture team's 4-H science sprouts!
4-H science sprouts is an adventure series to explore seasonal agronomy and horticulture topics. In October, the 4-H science sprouts will be learning about the science of pumpkins.

Supply lists will be provided a week prior to our 4-H science sprouts gatherings for members that want to try any of the experiments in a hands-on way. Purchasing the materials for this is optional and not required.
Audience: Youth in grades 3 and up
Cost: free to attend
There are optional material costs.

🍀National 4-H Week - October 2nd - October 10th!🍀
This year National 4-H Week is October 2-8th. Let's get the word out about how great Chisago County 4-H is! Below is what our Minnesota 4-H has challenged us to do. Don't forget to post on Facebook and Instagram with hashtags: #Opportunity4All #MN4H #MN4HProud
We hear at the office have an additional challenge for you! I have heard that in the past we had a "Window Display" contest...what is a "window display" you ask? Create a display of some kind at a business, library, in your yard etc. promoting 4-H! The winning family, club or group gets a pizza party! So get those creative juices flowing. Can't wait to see what you come up with. Please have your displays up sometime during the week of October 2-8th and send us a photo with your creative peeps.
⏰Time to re-enroll!⏰
Minnesota 4-H previously announced that 4-H members would be continuously enrolled in the program until they aged or opted out, that now is NOT the case.
We need to enroll again by confirming all of your information and submitting it.
In order to remain enrolled, you will need to show your family’s intent to participate by logging in to 4-H Online and reviewing, updating, and submitting the following information:
Your family's contact and demographic information, including club, school, and grade.
Each family member's health and emergency contact information.
Project areas of interest for this coming year. If you're on the fence about an area of interest, mark that your interested so you don't miss out on any emails from the University.
You can log in to 4-H Online here to complete the re-enrollment process. This guide has more information.
If you have any questions please call the office 651-277-0150 if you need any help or stop by. Sue and I are always happy to help.

Branch Out and Go Green with Minnesota 4-H🍀
Each year, the Minnesota 4-H State Ambassadors select a service theme to engage all Minnesota 4-H youth in learning about a community issue and taking steps to make a positive, collective impact.
The theme for the 2022-2023 program year is “Branch Out and Go Green with Minnesota 4-H,” which encourages youth to perform service that has a positive impact on the environment. The state ambassadors created 10 challenges for individual youth and/or youth groups to give back to their community and be eco-friendly.
Monthly Challenges:
October: Build and donate bat houses
