Our Annual Halloween Parade into town is scheduled for Monday, October 31 beginning at 9:30 AM. This day is also a 1 PM Dismissal Day for students. Be sure to plan for your children to be home early.
Halloween Parade
The annual Ridgely Elementary Halloween Parade is scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, October 31, 2021, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Students and staff will begin lining up in front of the school by grade starting at 9:15 a.m. Once all grades are in position, the parade will begin with the end of the line wrapping around to lead the way into town. The students will walk on both sides of Central Avenue before returning to school. The town of Ridgely and local businesses in our community are also involved in this event, providing treats along the parade route. We encourage parents to line the parade route to watch the parade. Following the parade, parents will not be permitted to enter the school. If the parade is indoors due to inclement weather, unfortunately, parents will not be able to attend the inside parade.
When we return to school, students will continue with their school day. However, this day is a 1:00 p.m. Dismissal Day for students. Please plan for students to arrive home earlier than normal.
As you and your child plan for this school event, we request that students wear costumes that are appropriate for the school environment involving varying ages of children. Overly scary masks or costumes that display blood and/or violence are not permitted to be worn in the parade. Play weapons—swords, guns, knives—are also not appropriate at school, so please leave those at home.
If we have a 2 Hour Delay Opening, students will arrive at school at 10:45 AM. We will hold the Parade into town in the afternoon if the weather permits beginning with the line up at 1:30 PM and the parade starting at 1:45 PM. Again, if it is raining we would have to have an indoor parade and parents would not be permitted to attend.
Be sure to download the CCPS App to stayed informed.
Do you qualify? Apply today for Free Lunch for your students.
The PTA will hold a General PTA Meeting on Wednesday, November 2nd at 6 PM in the cafeteria. All are welcome to attend.
Choptank Community Health - School Based Health Center
We would like to remind you of our school-based health center open right here at RES!
In partnership with Choptank Community Health System, we have high quality, convenient healthcare, and dental services in our school.
If your child starts to feel sick at school and with parent permission, the school nurse can refer them to the school based health center. A Choptank Health provider will conduct an exam, run diagnostics, and even call in a prescription if necessary – all in the school setting.
Records will be shared with your child’s pediatrician, and if ongoing care is required, this will also be coordinated with the pediatrician.
Choptank’s dental services include screenings, cleanings, sealants, fluoride treatments, and emergency visits. With care once again coordinated with your child’s primary dentist. The Choptank dental team will be at RES later this year- sign up today using the link below!
