A Note from Mrs. Pitts
Dear RES Families,
This will be the LAST newsletter of the 2022-2023 school year. I want to thank you all for your incredible support and patience as I navigated my first year as the principal of RES but also a principal in NH, which is slightly different than Massachusetts. I have loved my job every day and I owe that all to the students, staff and YOU, the families. There may have been some bumps in the road along my journey but I am looking forward to next year when I know a little more and am learning a little less.
Most importantly, I want to thank you for your children. There are no words to describe the joy they bring me every day. They are an incredible group of humans who are so joyful and full of life and wonder all the time. I am in awe of them. I appreciate your trust in me and in the RES staff to take care of them and guide them each day. I am really looking forward to the next week of celebration and fun as we acknowledge the hard work and the progress they have all made. Specifically, I want to say that we will miss the fourth graders more than you can imagine. This is a group of students who will go so far and are so special to us here at RES. We can't wait to celebrate you next week!
Over the summer, I am working on several projects and one is creating a family friendly calendar of events for the year. This is so you can anticipate those times you may need to attend our RES family friendly presentations, celebrations and other community events. I would really love your feedback when creating this calendar, so please email me your thoughts and ideas. Lastly, please take a moment to email ANY feedback that you may have had this year as I am very open and willing to listen to make adjustments if they help our students, staff and families in making the 2023-2024 school year the best it can be.
THANK YOU for your amazing support!
Sincerely,
Michelle Pitts

Pick a Project
Cultural Assemblies: Based on the teaching in each grade, how can we align engaging and powerful speakers, artists, authors, musicians, presenters, experts (and more) to better support our children in grasping content? Michelle Pitts is looking for someone who can work beside her to help book and coordinate assemblies for our students. This work could be done this summer and would only require a couple of training meetings. Please email mpitts@sau50.org if you are willing to take on this role. It would require collaboration with our office staff and organization (great charts and a love of checklists:)
Build a Platform to overlook the marsh in Riptide Reserve- We are hoping to get two - four parents to join the project to build this platform before the start of school in August. If you are interested, please email Eileen Murphy, Outdoor Education Specialist at emurphy@sau50.org. Thank you!

Volunteers: We will be holding a Volunteer appreciation night for all you amazing people who have helped this year be so much fun for our students and families! Emails sent out to the volunteers who have helped at events for June 14th at Common Roots.
The staff and students at RES want to THANK our incredible PTA for all they do to support our students!

Notes
- All students' lunch accounts must be paid in full. Students cannot carry a negative balance. If children are in the red, they cannot purchase ice cream. We are more than happy to help if you don't know how to access your account or pay online! All positive balances will carry over to the next school year.
- We strongly encourage non-food items for all events, birthdays, etc. If you are planning on sending food of any kind into school, you must notify Lori Flint (lflint@sau50.org) and the teacher one WEEK prior so we can be vigilant and work with our teachers and families around the food students are being served. if food appears and the nurse has not been notified prior, then we cannot serve the food to our students.
