Empowering Artistic Growth. Every Student. Every day.
On Thursday, March 5 at 6:30pm the Denton ISD 6th Grade Honor Choir and 9/10 Honor Choir will perform in concert at the Ryan High School Auditorium. Choir students in 6th grade, 9th grade, and 10th grade have the opportunity to audition to be selected for these honor choirs. Students from DISD's middle school and high school choir programs will be represented and will be performing together in concert. The concerts on Feb 21 and March 5 are open to the public and free to attend.
Congratulations to the nine Denton ISD music students listed below that were selected by audition to perform with the Texas All-State Bands, Choirs, Jazz Ensembles, and Orchestras in San Antonio, February 12-15, 2020 at the Henry B. González Convention Center as part of the 2020 Texas Music Educators Association Clinic/Convention, the nations largest convention of its kind. These students were chosen for this prestigious honor through a competitive process held this year across the state at District, Region, and Area levels. Only the top 2.5% of musicians who initially audition become All-State musicians. We are extremely proud of these outstanding students. Many thanks to their parents, directors, and private lesson teachers for supporting them on their journey towards this goal.
