Our Middle School's Kindness Club is promoting and creating a culture of kindness in our school. Each week we will be giving a 'shoutout' to students caught being kind. Congrats to Catherine Biddick! Cat wrote a letter to another student and shared this student is welcome in our school and she would happily be their friend. We are proud of her empathy and compassion!

During the months of October and November, Reddy Ag Service, Inc. and Ross Soil Service, LLC. participated in a program called Crystalyx Cares. For every Crystalyx lick tub that was sold at either their Stitzer or Mineral Point locations, Crystalyx Cares donated $2 back to an organization of Reddy Ag and Ross Soils' choosing. As a Hubbard feed dealer, they were able to choose one chapter in the area. This year, the Mineral Point FFA Chapter is the recipient of their check! Said Reddy Ag Service and Ross Soil Feed and Grain: "The Mineral Point FFA Chapter and Mr. Robinson have graciously donated their time to help serve the customers of Reddy Ag and Ross Soil at our yearly customer appreciation supper held at the Iowa County Fairgrounds. Additionally, they are very active in the community and serve as outstanding role models for all other youth in our area.”

Making more HERstory! Friday, MPMS/HS celebrated two-time WIAA State Champion Kylie Rule as she signed her National Letter of Intent to wrestle for the Wartburg Knights in Waverly, Iowa! #PointerNation is proud!

Unfortunately, our #PointerNation Boys Basketball team fell short 60-55 in a hard-fought WIAA Sectional Semifinal last Wednesday vs. Onalaska Luther at Lancaster. Thank you, Pointers, for another amazing year. A special thanks to our Seniors for your contributions over the past four seasons!

A big congrats to Griffin Albaugh who placed 5th at the Wisconsin High School Powerlifting Association State meet in Appleton, qualifying for Nationals in Myrtle Beach, SC at the end of the month! Griffin also set the record for state benchpress at 319 lbs.

Congratulations to our #PointerNation Wrestling Youth 6-8th Grade team that placed 2nd at the WWF Kids Team State for Division 2/3 in Fond du Lac!

We had 48 middle school girls sign up to attend UW-Platteville's Pioneering Your Future in STEM day! What a great time growing science, technology, engineering, and math skills!

The Countdown to the Cornwall Exchange trip 2023 is on! The Mineral Point Twinning Committee, and Mineral Point Unified School District in partnership, will send six Mineral Point students to Cornwall, United Kingdom on March 16th. Interestingly to start off the trip, there will be a short layover in Dublin, Ireland on March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day, before arriving in Newquay, Cornwall and then driving on to Redruth, our Mineral Point Cornish twin city. Jackson Busch, Marcus Cool, Julianna Cool, Ella James, Livie Poad, and Sophia Stephenson along with trip leader, Mr. Matt Nevers and chaperone Mrs. Kipalee Bakken are preparing for their adventure.

Due to COVID, this will be the first trip since the 2019 group went to Cornwall. Students and chaperones are all very excited to be able to travel across the pond, meet with our host families, and see all the wonderful sights.

On the trip students will take tours of West Cornwall along with Redruth and Redruth School, St. Ives with shopping and tour of the beaches, Murdoch House and Heartlands, Mining Museum and Diaspora Gardens, Lanhydrock House, St Michael’s Mount, Lands End, Gwennap Pit, Mine Tour, Eden Project, Charlestown Harbour and Shipwreck Museum, Quaker Meeting House- Come to Good, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Mevagissey Fishing Village, and Penzance.

Activities they will participate in include making Cornish pasty, skittles (bowling), and swimming at Jubilee Pool, a geothermal heated pool. There will also be an opportunity to explore more of Cornwall with their host families.

At the end of the trip, the group will stop to see Stonehenge and Windsor Castle along their way to London where they will have a two day stay to see sights such as Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, Tower of London, London Eye, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Paddington Station, and students will attend a performance of Phantom of the Opera.

It should be a wonderful trip!
