May 26: Awards Day and Last Day of School

Dear Break-O-Day Families,

It has been a great week at BES! Thank you SO MUCH for all of the kindness shown to our staff throughout Teacher Appreciation Week! Our staff has felt the love from our students and families! Thank you for your contributions and supporting our PTO in celebrating our staff! We have the BEST students and school community here at Break-O-Day!

In the upcoming days, we will begin another construction project. Over the summer, BES will be installing a new playground! We will also be adding an access road connecting the soccer parking lot to our school parking lot. This will allow us to reroute our car rider line in the morning and keep traffic off of Sawmill Road. We are very excited about the new equipment and updates that will be made! We will have access to a smaller section of the playground for the remainder of the year for recess.

We are looking forward to the last week of school for celebrations and our Awards Day programs on Friday, May 26th. Below is the schedule of the programs. Visitors are allowed to attend our programs. We ask that you park in either of the front lots (bus lot will be open after 9:00 am). If there are no remaining spots in the front, feel free to park in the soccer lot and walk across, however our playground construction project may be underway at that time. Please enter through Door 1 at the flagpole and programs will be held in the gym. If you plan to sign your child out after the awards ceremony, we will ask you to do so in your child’s homeroom.

• Friday, May 26th- Last Day of School, Awards Day: Times for grade level awards below: Each grade level will be in the gym.

• Kindergarten: 10:45-11:15

• First Grade: 1:00-1:30

• Second Grade: 12:15-12:45

• Third Grade: 11:30-12:00

• Fourth Grade: 10:00-10:30

• Fifth Grade 9:15-9:45

If you have not yet registered your child for 2023-2024, please take care of this ASAP! We appreciate those of you who re-enrolled this week! As of right now, only 64% of our students are registered for next year. We want to see that percentage rise to help us prepare for next school year. It doesn’t take long and will help us out a lot with our planning! We will be working on class lists before the end of the year, and this will greatly help!

Unlike in years past, if you do not re-enroll your child for the 2023-2024 school year, you will not be able to see a schedule or homeroom teacher for the following school year. We will have class lists posted live in July the Friday before school begins. To be sure that your child is on a class list and you are able to see their homeroom teacher’s name as soon as available, be sure to re-enroll. This process doesn’t take long and is now available on smartphones as well.
