ROCK YOUR COLORFUL SOCKS TUESDAY!
A Message From Heather Patterson, GRHS Principal
Happy Sunday GRHS Longhorns,
I hope your Spring Break was spent resting, making memories with friends and family, and taking advantage of doing some of the things that make your soul happy away from the hustle and bustle of our normally packed schedules! Time is something that we can never get back, so slowing down during breaks is a must!
As we come back for the final push, please make sure that you are continuing to make those good choices. Dig in your backpacks and find your ID's today, they must be on the minute you cross the school doors! Let's talk about SHOWING up, attendance matters all the way until the end of the year. If you miss more than 10% of the school year, we are required to file truancy, so please help us by showing up and taking care of your business. There are no FREE days when it comes to exemptions either. Exemptions are NOT a right, they are a privilege, and one that you must work hard for! Parent notes do not ensure you receive them, if you are over the 3 day max limit. You must have a medical note from a doctor or clinic, that was turned in within the 5 day grace period after the absence. Keep BEING THE ONE to wear your ID and be in dress code this is NOT optional, so there is no need to be disrespectful when we are holding you accountable. Rules are just expected to be followed, whether you agree with them or not. That's life. Your everyday choices matter and that includes your respectful body language and good manners...that I KNOW your parents taught you.
Stay tuned for another Trivia Advisory Challenge...this week will be focused around World Down Syndrome Day! Whose class will win the next class treat?
Who is interested in making a positive impact at George Ranch High School?? If that’s YOU, then join the GRHS PTO Executive Board! See the info below! This is not the same time commitment as an Elementary PTO...so don't be scared! :)
ID Weekly Reminder
ID MUST be worn visibly on the top half of your body EVERY DAY! I announce this EVERY SINGLE MORNING. If you cannot find yours please scan the Blue/Yellow QR code in this newsletter, in the classrooms, or hanging in the front of the school service window to buy one. We will continue to do ID sweeps, and anyone without one will be charged $5 and given a new one. This is NOT optional, as it is part of dress code, but more importantly a safety measure so we can quickly see who belongs and who does not on campus.
