Carrollton Elementary Updates
October 27, 2020
Principal's Message
We hope everyone is safe and healthy! We realize that the school is not just a learning institution. It is also a family resource hub. Our Parent Engagement Assistant, Zulma Pacheco, and our Community Schools Coordinator, Jobina Brown, are eager to direct you to the needed resources. Please email them Ms. Pacheco or Ms. Brown if you need us to direct you to resources that may be available to you.
I can't tell you how much we miss seeing you in the mornings as you are dropping your students off and as you are picking them up in the afternoons. We certainly cannot wait to return to our school building and be able to interact with you and your children each day. In the meantime, we want you to know that we are just a call or email away.
STUDENT ATTENDANCE
If there is a reason beyond your control that prevents your child from attending school, please inform his/her teacher. If there is any way to support you with ensuring your child's regular attendance at school, please let us know. We need our students in school each day!
Please know that students who do not regularly attend school will be in jeopardy of not passing their classes.
FAMILY PORTAL ACCESS
If you would like access to your child's grades and attendance data at any time during the school year, please register for the Schoolmax Family Portal. With the Family Portal, you can monitor your child's progress and ask him/her to tell you what's going on. You can also request a meeting with the teacher for support if needed.

Carrollton's Mock Presidential Election Ballot
A mock presidential ballot is an imitation election process that allows students to practice casting a vote to choose a presidential candidate. Beginning Monday, October 26, 2020, Carrollton's students will engage in their own voting process at school through a Mock Presidential election week. From October 26 through October 30, students will be able to electronically cast their ballots for who they would like to be President. We will announce the winners based on the students' electronic ballots on Monday, November 2nd.
Now, parents, this election is about the children, so you will have to resist your desire to persuade your child either way. :-)
