News, Updates & Reminders: 1/13

Good Morning E.L.M. Families,

Happy Friday! We have a half day of school today, with dismissal at 11:30am. We will serve lunch before students leave for the day.

Skiers - There is some uncertainty about whether or not we will ski today due to the weather, but please bring all winter and ski gear to school with anticipation that we are skiing. We will only cancel if Berkshire East closes. The bus will leave at 11:35am and return to school at 5:00pm, if we are able to ski. Also, a friendly reminder that we do not have Ski Club next Friday.

* Our PTG is excited to announce that they are bringing back the Loop Race in September. For those who have been at Emma Miller for a long time, you should be familiar with the race, but for those who are not, there will be a virtual meeting on Monday, 2/13 at 6:00pm for everyone to join and learn more. We will need as many volunteers as possible, so please consider joining us as we begin to plan. More information, including the virtual link, will be coming soon.

* Sadly, we received word yesterday that our Scholastic Book Fair that is normally hosted here at Emma Miller will become a "virtual" book fair this year. Scholastic has changed their minimum sales goal, and unfortunately, is out of our reach for our small school. The virtual fair will take place from Jan. 30th - Feb. 12th and all sales will be completely online. In the next week or so we should receive book fair flyers for all of the students to take home, along with information on how you can order. The fair is just in time for Valentines' Day! Please keep an eye out for more information.

*Aftercare payments are due today for attendance during the week of 1/16--1/20.
