Dear Parents,

Happy October! What a busy month we have!

We can't wait to see all the Storybook Character pumpkins this month. We are also excited about Red Ribbon Week, which is the last week of the month.

Please see below for new guidelines for what to do if you have a child or family member who is diagnosed with Covid. There is a new form to complete that will help streamline the process of determining contacts at school.

Report cards will be coming home of the week of October 18. Teachers will be having conferences around that time as well. If you would like a conference to discuss your child's progress, please let your teacher or the front office know.

COVID guidelines

If your child has symptoms of COVID, a diagnosis of COVID, is a household contact of someone who is positive, or is a close contact of a positive case, please complete this form: https://forms.gle/oiaefYr63TQoRfcy5


This allows the front office to have this information in a timely way. It also allows us to find out more about the situation and determine close contacts. This information is confidential and will only be shared with those who have a need to know.

Arrival Reminders

Here are just a few reminders for our car riders in the morning:

1. Please remember to arrive between 7:30 and 8:00. After 8:00, students are tardy and parents will need to sign them in through the front office. Teachers begin the school day at 7:35, so you are encouraged to get your student here between 7:30 and 7:45 if possible.

2. Please stay in your car when unloading. The adults who help with carline will be glad to undo seat belts, car seats, help with backpacks, etc.

3. Please remember that the car line is a No Phone Zone. Please try to hold phone calls until you are finished dropping off students.

4. Please have students exit the car on the curbside to avoid all traffic.

Afternoon Car LIne

Please remember that even though the car line starts as two lanes, after the curve, it turns into three lanes. Please do not block cars from creating three lanes after the curve.

Second Grade Testing

Our second graders will take COGAT/IOWA testing October 14-20. Please make sure that your student arrives on time, eats a balanced breakfast, and gets plenty of sleep the nights before testing occurs. Encourage your student to do his/her best! If you have any questions about testing, please call the front office.
