Preparing for Parent Access in Canvas Timetable
Canvas Modules
Modules are the instructional centerpieces of Canvas and allow teachers to control the visibility and flow of their course. As we continue to prepare for parent access into Canvas, Modules provide a place for lesson structure, resource access, and observer visibility control.
For all resources related to Canvas Modules, refer to the Innovation in Learning Resource Course.
Course Structure in Modules: Understanding Visibility

Access to Digital Resources
Teachers and students should only be using digital resources on our approved lists (Canvas Account – TrustEd Apps Dashboard).
Please note the following:
- Google has recently changed how third-party apps access organizational Google data. User access was adjusted to further protect users under the age of 18. These settings are important for protecting users' data. Our teachers or students should not be using Google as a log in mechanism for digital resources.
- The Microsoft store has been disabled. As digital resources and apps are added to the approved lists of digital resources, they will be made available to teachers.
- Canvas integration, Clever, or Office365 should be the method of access to digital resources. In some cases, with supplemental tools, students would need to create an account using their HCPS email address. See the Innovation in Learning course for access information for each digital resource.
