A Message from Coach Mary
Storm Families,
We have several groups kicking off our mid-season meets this week; best of luck to everyone racing over the next two weeks! As we go through this very important time of our swim season, I leave us with a simple quote:
“The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty." — Winston Churchill
Thank you,
Coach Mary

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS IN ORDER FOR A SWIMMER TO QUALIFY FOR AN NJ YMCA CHAMPIONSHIP MEET (BRONZE/SILVER/STATES)?
- Athletes must have met the required qualifying times. To view qualifying times, please visit https://www.teamunify.com/team/njgscy/page/meet--events/time-standards#SC%20YMCA%20Times.
- Athletes have to compete for GSCY Storm in a minimum of three YMCA closed competition meets during the short course season (and prior to the NJ YMCA championship meet). YMCA invitational meets count as closed meets (i.e., GMNY Harvest Haunt, RVY Spooky Sprints, GSCY Champions Classic, Westfield Devilfish, GSCY Green and Black, First Frost, HCY Autumn Challenge, Candy Cane Classic). Future-scheduled YMCA closed competition meets include: GMNY December Classic, HCY Stingray Splash, Madison MLK Invitational, GSCY Miles to Miles, and SAY Deep Freeze.
Please speak with your practice group lead coach if your athlete has achieved a qualifying time but may not meet the required three invitational meets.
