Summer Academy - response requested

The Mendham Borough School District is considering a Summer Learning Academy at Mountain View, which would consist of both academic support and enrichment opportunities. Please complete the survey below so that we can determine the feasibility of a summer program. Parents of 8th graders do not need to respond; the program would be for current 5th, 6th, and 7th graders only.

- If you have not already done so, please review the email from Dr. Morillo sent earlier today.


- Today is the deadline to:

  • Submit Spring sports forms to Mrs. Austenberg.
  • Submit final payment for the 8th grade trip ($299.00).


- On Monday, March 7, Mountain View will welcome Mrs. Andrea McGarry as the new Main office secretary. Mrs. McGarry can be reached at mcgarry@mendhamboroschools.org.


- The next meeting of the Mountain View Parent Council is Friday, March 11. Minutes from past meetings can be viewed here.


- The West Morris Mendham Players present Beauty and the Beast. Opening night is Thursday, March 10 with additional performances on the 11th and 12th. Click here to purchase tickets.

A note from Ms. Walsh

Happy Friday Mountain View! I hope everyone had another great week. Due to our snow day last Friday, we had an Advisory Monday this week. The 6th-8th graders explored the topic of resilience, and how they can use failures as opportunities for learning and growth. Students were asked to reflect on prior responses to challenging circumstances and acknowledge ways that the situations helped them to grow. Additionally, students were asked to brainstorm different ways that they could handle challenging situations in the future to help them to develop more resilience. The 6th, 7th, and 8th graders have been wonderful in contributing to their class discussions!


Our 5th graders are nearing the end of their NJ Bar Foundation Bullying Prevention Lessons. They learned about responsible reporting this week, the difference between tattling and telling and adult-sized problems and kid-sized problems. The students were asked to put their knowledge to the test and make a bullying prevention version of “If You See Something, Say Something” posters to hang around school as reminders to the Mountain View Community.
