Husky Howler 2/2/24 (Guardians)
We are the PACK!
Smiley Thoughts
PACK Guardians,
I found this article over kids and energy drinks that you may find interesting! I see a lot of these floating around campus at such young ages. Read it and maybe even share with your student! It was a great week at Hubbard and we are keeping the ball rolling with instruction. Please help us by staying on top of your kids with their grades and attendance. Don't forget to read the information below as it is very important for the upcoming weeks
6th graders and football before school - Campus administration has all agreed that we will no longer be allowing 6th grade students to play football at the front of the building before school. There have been too many issues bleeding into the school day from this activity. We have communicated this to students and will be taking up footballs and disciplining students for failure to follow directives. Please talk with your Husky 6th grade boys!
Preview Night - We are having our preview night for current 5th graders at feeder elementary schools on Tuesday, February 13th at 5:30p.m. in the front Gym at Hubbard. We will have all our awesome clubs/sports/orgs on deck to perform or speak with parents about all the wonderful things going on at Hubbard in addition to moving into our BRAND NEW building. Tell you friends!
Cheer Tryouts! - I know that many of you 6th and 7th grade guardians are excited to get our official Cheer Information! This year a couple things have changed and we want to make sure we have impeccable communication regarding the process, expectations, etc. Please click the link to access all the information including important upcoming dates.
Guardian Informational Meeting - Thursday, February 8th @ 5:30pm in the cafeteria. We will have printed copies of the informational packet at the meeting.
Signed pages due - Friday, February 16th to Gillian Turner by the end of the day
Notification of any ineligibility - Monday, February 26th
Cheer Clinic Week - March 4-8th (Mock tryouts are on Thursday and are CLOSED tryouts)
Official Tryouts - Friday, March 8th during school. Results posted to the website by 5p.m.
Tyler ISD Transfers - Is your child at Hubbard on a transfer? You MUST fill out a transfer request form even if they have previously been accepted. The transfer window opens on February 1st and this is the official Tyler ISD Transfer Request form. We will have them printed in the front office.
Feb 1- First day to apply for transfers
March 1- Last day to submit transfer request form. All transfer requests must be submitted by March 1st to be considered.
April 1- Notification of transfer approval/denial
Panorama Survey - Coming up in February, our PACK students will be taking the annual "Panorama Survey" at Hubbard. This is a survey that helps our campus and teachers gain a valuable understanding of their classrooms through the perspective of a student in areas such as engagement, rigor, etc.. Student responses are completely anonymous! If you DO NOT want your child to take part in this then please see this opt out letter or the Spanish version.
Spinal Screenings - Nurse Olivares has drafted this notification letter regarding upcoming spinal screenings for students. Please read the letter and call Nurse Eleanor Olivares at (903)262-1567 if you have any questions.
Baseball/Softball - Is your 8th grade student interested in baseball/softball at Tyler Legacy for next year? Have them see Coach Morrow in A16! You can e-mail him at matthew.morrow@tylerisd.org with any questions.
***REPEATS***
i-Ready/Edugence - If you would like instructions on how to access your student's i-Ready and edugence information, please use this handout that we created! It is also on the Hubbard website under "parent resources."
