Why are we changing Padlet access this year?
We are moving our previous Padlet access to a new harford.padlet.org site for stronger security and to integrate with our Learning Management System - Canvas.
What should I do the first time I log into Padlet?
Please follow these directions to set up Padlet in a module or an assignment.
Direct students to access the Padlet in the module/assignment. Once students access this Padlet, it will connect them to their harford.padlet.org account.
What if students get an error message when trying to access the Padlet in a Canvas Module or Assignment?
Have your students sign out of padlet.com and clear their cache and history. This will allow them to sign directly into harford.padlet.org and link to their account.
How can my students create their own Padlet?
Students can create their own Padlet through a teacher template in modules or assignments or through the Padlet Access link in the course navigation.
- See the following directions to create a template to distribute to students:
Padlet – Additional Sharing Option
- For students to create their own Padlet through course navigation, enable Padlet Access in Navigation.
- Once saved, it will appear in the Course Navigation.
****Important - Students must access harford.padlet.org through a module or assignment before they can access it in course navigation. ****
Can I share a Padlet the way I had before through harford.padlet.org?
Yes, once all parties go through the process of accessing their accounts, you can share Padlets the traditional way through a shared link.
Will my favorite Padlets transfer over with the import?
No, while all Padlets will be imported to the new account, the Padlets will no longer be favorited.
What will happen to my old Harford County account in padlet.com?
Those accounts will be removed. Padlet will be transferring all accounts over to harford.padlet.org in the coming weeks. When students try to access padlet.com using a school computer, they will be redirected to harford.padlet.org. Padlet is currently working on transferring all Harford County accounts.
What else is new in Harford.Padlet.org?
- All courses are designated to only allow those in the organization to access the Padlets [1].
- Teachers should make sure to turn off "Display in Org Dashboard" [2].
- By having this active, all teachers in the organization will be able to see a created Padlet.
