Principal's Thoughts
Dear Page Hilltop Families:
Yesterday morning our Paws Power student leadership group hosted a car wash at Archer's Mobil station. What an amazing day it was! I am so proud of our Paws Power student leaders who were able to participate yesterday! I know that for some of you it meant combining a day of car washing and playing soccer. You certainly got a good workout.
Thank you to all of the parents who transported the children back and forth. Special thanks to the following parents who were active participants in our car wash: Mrs. Browning, Mrs. DeBlasio, Mr. Gibbons, Mrs. Shea, Mr. Tada, Mrs. Tosi & Mrs. Wright.
As I mentioned previously, our students made the day an amazing success. They washed and rinsed car after car, most of the time washing four cars/trucks at a time. They worked enthusiastically for four straight hours. The students ended up wet and soapy but with smiles on their faces.
Besides washing the cars they took turns holding signs, shouting to passing cars and doing their best dance moves. Throughout the morning, I marveled at their energy, enthusiasm & positive school spirit. There was never a lack of effort from anyone.
As each newly cleaned car left the area, they received a loud & happy "Thank You" from the students.
We would like to thank the many guests of our car wash (PH families & staff as well as many community members). Thank you for supporting this activity. We would like to acknowledge the dozens of "unknown people" who gave donations to the cause without asking for a wash. They simply wanted to support our school and young students. We are most grateful to all of you!
Kudos to all of our champion car washers: Abby, Audrey, Ava, Avery, Bree, Brynne, Callum, Daya, Haley, Hannah, Jaidyn, Jonathan, Livia, Logan, Maya, Mia, Ryann, Sebastian, Simone, Sophia, Tori, Trinity & Violet.
As a result of your efforts, we were able to raise over $1,000 !! WOW!!! In the spirit of community service that this group embraces, these monies will help out many people. Some of the monies will be used to help students/families that may not have funds for end-of-school events. Some of the monies will be used to sponsor a "KONA-ICE Day" at Page Hilltop and all students will receive a KONA Ice treat during recess next week. Some of the monies will also be used to provide some special treats for our hard-working teachers and staff.
All of these kind deeds are thanks to our champion car washers. And, now that we all know what great car washers you are, I think your parents will be needed you to wash their cars at home!
Thanks, as always, for sharing your children with us!
