I hope everyone had a wonderful first month of the new year. We are gearing up for a fantastic February here at East Side! Yearbooks are on sale through April 9. Don't miss the opportunity to purchase a yearbook and celebrate one of the most unique school years in anyone's memory!

The front doors open each morning at 7:00 a.m. to admit students. Please make sure your student arrives to school EARLY so that he/she has time to get to the classroom, unpack, get his/her materials ready, and be prepared to learn by 7:25 a.m. Morning announcements will be made at 7:25 a.m. daily so that instruction can start promptly at 7:30. Thank you for helping us instill the good habits of being early and a strong work ethic!

Please remember to have your blue car tag displayed in your car when you come pick up your student from school. If you do not have a car tag, please pull over, walk to the front door, and show your ID to pick up your child. This helps our teachers ensure students are going home with the correct person. Thank you for helping all of our students to get home safely.

It's been a year to remember, and you're not going to want to miss out on this year's amazing yearbook! For only $15 you can take home a collection of memories from this school year!! Mrs. Chambers sent home an order form this week. Please make sure you list your student's name, grade, and homeroom when you send in $15 to purchase a yearbook. (Cash, check, or money order made payable to East Side). Yearbook sale ends April 9, but don't wait too long!

Ms. Erin Thompson, a student teacher from MTSU, who will be serving in Mrs. Goad's 1st grade classroom this semester.

Please always call (931-684-7112) to notify and get guidance from Nurse Juanita of the following for your student:

• Exposure to a positive case of COVID-19.
• Diagnosis of a positive case of COVID-19.
• Exhibiting symptoms such as: cough, runny/stuffy nose, sore throat, temperature greater than or equal to 100.4, chills, body aches, headache, loss of taste or smell, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
• Guidance on when your child may return to school if he/she is in quarantine, tested positive, or is exhibiting symptoms of illness.

We are excited to be launching Ready4K this week! The State is providing Ready4K, a new, free resource available for all families with pre-K through 3rd grade students that will support the connections between classroom and home. Ready4K delivers three texts (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) with fun facts and tips to provide your families with simple, engaging tips to help their students continue to learn while at home. The messages match each child’s age, even if families have more than one child. If families have more than one child, they will receive all 3 texts for child 1 on Monday, child 2 on Wednesday, etc. A flyer was sent home last week with your child. Please see the school website if you have further questions. You will only receive these messages if your phone number is in Skyward.
