2022 Professional Development Days

The following dates are the remaining pupil free days for 2022. Please ensure you have them in your diaries.

Friday 23rd September - Catholic Day Holiday

Monday 7th November - Staff Professional Development Day

Over the last few days I have noticed that there have been some students not wearing the correct uniform or have been wearing the uniform incorrectly.

Our uniform gives the students a sense of belonging and enhances pride in their school. The uniform shop is open on a Wednesday afternoon if you require any items.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated in helping to build a strong school culture where our sense of identity is celebrated.

Tomorrow morning at 8.50am in the hall a range of students will be showcasing their musical talents at the music assembly. We have some very talented musicians here at QOA and I am very much looking forward to seeing them perform. I thank Mrs Perry for organising.

Tomorrow, Friday 9th September, starting at 10am the Kindy and Pre-Primary classes will be having their athletics morning on the Annexe Oval. They will be involved in running races and relays and it promises to be great fun.

We hope the weather is fine and it would be fantastic to see a big crowd in attendance to support our students. I’m sure Mr Bridgeman would also like some parent help in the morning.

The P&F Sundowner tomorrow from 5.30 until 7.30pm promises to be lots of fun for everyone.

There will be an ice cream van, giant games and a magic show. So get your picnic rugs and hampers ready and come and enjoy a great evening with other families in our wonderful school.

I thank our P&F for organising this for our community.

Next Monday our Year 6’s will head down to Woodman’s Point in Coogee for school camp. This is always a much-anticipated event amongst our Year 6 students and they are very excited.

Mrs Maloney, Mrs O’Brien, Mrs Mistry, Mr Bridgeman and I will be accompanying the Year 6 class and I must say I am very much looking forward to seeing our students challenge themselves at some of the activities they will be faced with. It will be a great opportunity to hone their leadership and resilience skills as they prepare for high school next year.

Next Tuesday evening (13th September) at 6.30pm some of our Year 3 students will celebrate the Sacrament of First Reconciliation at the Queen of Apostles Church.

I thank Ms Lesque for all the work she has done in preparation for this sacrament.

I would ask that you keep our Year 3 students in your prayers and thoughts in the lead up to this special evening.

On Sunday September 18, we will come together, to support our Year 4 students as they receive Holy Communion for the very first time, becoming one with Christ and deepening their relationship with the Lord through this Sacrament.

A big thank you to Mrs Joiner for all her work in preparing the children to receive this Sacrament.

I ask that you pray for our First Holy Communicants over the coming week.

Over the next couple of weeks, we have the following athletics events planned for our students.

Friday 9th September 10am = Kindy & PP Athletics Morning on Annexe Oval

Friday 16th September 9.30am = Yr. 3 to 6 Jumps & Throws on Annexe Oval

Tuesday 20th September = Yr. 1 to 6 Athletics Carnival at Ern Clarke Oval in Cannington

A note containing information about the carnivals will be sent home to all families.

I thank Mr Bridgemen for all his hard work in preparing for these wonderful days that the students really enjoy.

I hope the weather is kind.

I am really looking forward to next Friday (16th September) to watch our Pre-Primary class perform their assembly item in the hall. Please remember we now start our assembly items at 8.50am. I know there will be lot of family members there to support out Pre-Primaries. It promises to be lots of fun!
