Arrival and Dismissal Parking
To be good neighbors and keep all community members safe, we ask that families do not park in front or block our neighbors' driveways. In addition, we ask that families do not park in the Franklin parking lot. The parking lot is intended for staff and Franklin buses.
We also ask families leaving Franklin at dismissal to remain on the sidewalks and no not walk through the parking lot. This helps ensure student and community safety. Thank you for your cooperation.
Morning Bus
A reminder to all of our morning bus riders to arrive at your stop 10 minutes prior to the designated bus arrival time. Buses may arrive up to 10 minutes early from the designated bus pickup time.
This is a reminder that health forms are due to the Franklin Health office by October 15th. Please email Mrs. Karstens at qkarstens@d64.org.

Eye exam: Due for students in kindergarten and new to Illinois schools
Changes to Pick-Up or Traveling Parents
If there will be a new adult/guardian picking up your students, please make sure that the person is listed in the Parent Portal as someone with school pickup permission. Please make sure to notify the classroom teacher and office if there are any changes for students if a parent is traveling and the student is staying with someone different.
Visiting Franklin
All visitors to Franklin must have a valid state ID or driver’s license. These will be entered into the Raptor identification system. This process only takes a short time to complete. Once you have clearance, a visitor pass will be printed and attached to a lanyard that you must wear throughout the building. The office will hold your ID until you return to the office and return the lanyard that was given to you. We request that you please be patient with staff as we proceed with this district-mandated safety procedure.
Student-Parent Handbook
Franklin Elementary School, along with all District 64 schools, operates following policies and practices that have been reviewed and implemented by the District 64 Board of Education. Please review the D64 Student-Parent Handbook before the start of the school year.
PTA Updates
Please join us on Thursday, October 6th at 7:00 pm via Zoom for the next PTA meeting. We will have guest speakers form the Park District to discuss the Oakton Sports Complex renovation and referendum that will be voted on in the upcoming November election. Hope to see you on the call!

Our Raise Craze fundraiser kicks off Monday, October 3rd! This is a unique way for us to raise money for our school while making an impact in our community. During this fundraiser, students ask friends and family for donations via the online Raise Craze platform while paying it forward by serving others. What a great way for us to teacher our students the importance of kindness and gratitude while raising funding for our school! To help make the event more successful, the Raise Craze committee is looking for a few more volunteers to help with the following service events:
Bernie's Book Collection: Help sort books to be donated to Bernie's Book (Weeks of 10/3-10/14).
Chalk the Walk Volunteer: Supervise students after school while spreading kindness via chalk around the school on 10/7.
Trash Pick Up Supervisor: Help with the PTA sponsored trash pick up around Franklin and Northwest Park after school on 10/12.
Uncle Pete Sack Lunch Collector: Arrive before school on 10/13 to help collect sack lunches and sort after.
Head over to franklinpta.membershiptoolkit.com to sign up! Thank you to everyone that already volunteered!
