Ready Set Grow!

February was such a fun month at our school! In anticipation of spring, our teachers are busy planning meaningful learning activities that will help students gain an appreciation for the changing seasons. In order to make the most of the next few months we will be spending extra time outdoors so our students can interact with nature. We will also be celebrating Read Across America Day with a reading challenge for our families! Keep reading for more details.

March 14; National Pi Day; fun number activities for all ages!

March 16; Enrolled Parent Survey - provides the opportunity for you to give us feedback anonymously on our strengths and areas we can work on. Please keep an eye out for surveys delivered via email!

Monday- Imaginative Images @ RSG, campers will use a variety of techniques to paint.

Tuesday- Experiments and Challenges @ RSG, campers will complete minute to win it challenges and experiments.

Wednesday- Stoneridge Movie Theater field trip. Movie TBD*

Thursday- Pizza and Ice Cream Party, campers will have a pizza party in the afternoon (after lunch) and make their own ice cream.

Friday- The Works field trip, campers will visit the Works in Newark.

We want to encourage reading at home, just as much as we do at school. In the classroom, our children are forming a foundation of rich experiences as they make connections with each of their planned activities and the book of the week. Our literacy-based curriculum, Links to Learning, places books at the heart of these experiences, allowing children to build upon a multitude of concepts from dragons and unicorns to eating healthy or watching the seasons change and much more.

The goal of our ‘Very Hungry Reader’ is to challenge us as a school (students, parents, and staff) to collectively read 500 books at home beginning Monday, March 1st through March 31st. We will be documenting each and every book by jotting down the title and the name of the reader (or child that was read to) on a round piece of paper available in the lobby. Each paper will be connected to form a ‘caterpillar’ that we will watch grow each and every day! We will celebrate with a pajama party on March 31st if we reach our goal!
